just saw a feature in Euromaxx... french men are putting on makeups... and even jean paul gaultier had launched his makeup line for men...

how would the girls feel about their men putting on makeup? some of the french women (interviewed in the show) even encourage their men to wear them... and would the pinoy guys be open for this?

Well I think male models do wear make up for face feature purposes.

Was just wondering where one can buy make ups made especially for men here in the Phil.

Men (who aren't transgendered) who wear make-up do so for different reasons. They wear make-up to cover up flaws and not to enhance their face. That's why it is important that make-up for men is as transparent as possible.

Visit www.menaji.com (make-up for men) and you'll be surprised who wears their make-up.

I know nagpapa make-up yung ibang guys kapag wedding nila para ok labas sa wedding pics but to apply make-up regularly... I think hindi ok, hindi normal, hindi acceptable.

I'm a straight guy who's been having trouble in getting rid of my raccoon eyes (due to lack of sleep) and some pimples. Medyo stressful kasi everyday activities ko kaya madalas akong mukhang ngarag.

There's a cream for raccoon eyes kaso 4 digits ang presyo. Kulang ako sa budget.

I tried my cousin's gf's face powder, for a change.

Wow! It balanced my facial skin tone a bit.

Pero sabi nung gf ng pinsan ko, I should try a concealer daw. It works better.

Tama nga naman sya. Face powder could be very visible, especially on the area between the neck and the cheek.

I used a different strategy. I'll put the face powder on teh T zone only (dun lang naman kasi nagkaka oil) while I'll put concealer lang on my cheeks na may pimples.

The results are better. Wala na akong complaint dun sa face powder sa T zone.

Problem ko lang is the concealer.

It looks good on the initial application pero papangit sya a few hours later. Parang may build-up na di mo maintindihan (di na sya kasing spread-out katulad nung unang pagpahid). Maybe because naaalis sya sa skin or maybe di makasabay yung concealer sa elastic movements ng facial skin ko (which can be caused by jaw movements, etc.)

What concealer brand do you suggest na:
1. Madaling mag-spread out sa skin.
2. Won't create a very visible change in the skin texture (yung di halata)
3. Hindi masyadong kakapit sa kamay.

By the way, I also have a question color.

So far, the color "almond" almost matches my skin. The lightness is near perfect, but it has a slight shade of orange that I don't like. What color do you suggest? (yung pareho yung ligthess minus the slight shade of orange).

Or you can try VMV Glykeros. You can approach any VMV counter (Watson's or SM Department Stores) and ask for their eye gel. I think they cost Php400. I haven't used it myself (I should, because I've developed dark circles), but I've heard good reviews.

try mo yung in2it 2 way powder foundation. hindi sya heavy ang feeling, and it actually covers dark circles and reduces it kasi may vit c and a sya. it also has spf 20. this works for me kasi may dark circles din ako. P300+

check mo rin sa body shop, if i remember correctly yung treatment nila pang dark circles ay cheaper than expected :)

I use Skin Code Cellular Contour Eye Cream. You can get it from Essences, Rustan's for P1,000. But I should tell you that fresh cucumber still works wonders. Just rest for 15 minutes on eyes after thoroughly washing your face. I tell you it'll diminish your dark circles dramatically.

Forgot to mention that you could also use tea bags (green tea, preferably). Just dip in hot water for a few seconds, squeeze out excess water, put it in the fridge until cold, and then rest on your eyes for 5 to 10 minutes. I guarantee you fresh looking eyes. Hope it works.

Uso na mga make up for men.. pero takot lang yung iba.

anyway, I use this demi-matte foundation from Christian Dior, its basically mild to the skin. Its a liquid foundation, i used face powder before but there were build ups that i can't explain when my face becomes oily.

I use concealer under my foundation and i used face powder to set it. Well.. hindi naman obvious yung make up ko sa mukha just as long as you don't put too much make up that'll make you look like a kabuki, pero it makes my face visibly clear.

I'll heard CLARINS and CHRISTIAN DIOR has a line of make up for men. Inquire nalang sa Rustans.

The Clarins line for Men is just for skin and body care (i.e. face wash and scrub, moisture gel and balm, undereye serum, deodorant, shampoo, etc.). They're available at Rustan's. (check out http://int.clarinsmen.com/). They do not even have a sun block. Christian Dior does not have a skin care line made specifically for men, but I'm sure you could the ones they offer. The Dior Prestige line is pretty good. Click here: http://www.dior.com/pcd/International/JSP/Catalog/catalog.jsp?rubrique_type=3

i've seen men with make-up. i feel uncomfortable seeing men apply make-up on themselves unless there's a fashion shoot or a show.

if u want to make urself look better though, don't mind what others would think. just make sure it's light and not too obvious. concealer at lip balm, puwede na. wag nang dagdagan ng powder or blush

hmm in my humble opinion :) i don't think i'll ever be comfortable with the idea of men wearing makeup. men and makeup just don't mix...

i actually prefer a certain "ruggedness" in a man's looks, rather than a boy soo pretty to the point of androgeny.

to answer Slym_Dayspring's post above, i think you should go to a qualified derma first and have your acne treated instead of covering it up and leaving more build-up in your face that can cause even more pimples.

just use the gatsby blotting sheets for the oiliness. :)

lastly, i remember guys complaining of their gf's makeup (the smell, or the thickness of application, etc). i think i'd have the same complaints if my bf were to wear makeup too. but then, that's just my opinion :D

To many, it's repulsive, bordering on gayness. To some, it's alright, if applied discreetly, and it's unnoticeable. To a rare few, it's a can't-miss thing-to-do for the day.

Views are changing whether or not it's acceptable for men to wear makeup. In my opinion, go ahead and wear makeup if its only purpose is to cover up imperfections since admittedly, not everyone is blessed with the perfect skin. Just make sure you don't suddenly yell in the middle of the boy's room "I need a blusher!".

So...

Which brand do you guys preffer to use of a bronzer? Concealer?

What's the diff between the two?

ok lang naman mag make-up ang mga lalaki...i guess they wud use foundation lang and concealer to cover their blemishes....blushes wud also help...but eyeshadows, ***** hindi bagay..and lipstick. ...nude na lipstick ok lang as long as hindi reddish masyado.

Slym_Dayspring: one solution dyan on ur concealer problem, dati ko din problem yan e...dami ko na try na concealer na din to cover my eyebags. pero da best yung sa SONYA concealer wheel...why? 5 shades ito!! (lilac, green, beige, yellow, medium beige) it's an organic make-up, natural sya even if u have sensitiv skin or skin asthma highly recommended ito, i even use this sa pimples ko lalo na pag reddish....kahit itulog mo pa ito, hinde ka mag break out...saka pag lalong tumatagal mas lalong kumakapit sa skin mo yung concealer...d halata....and mabilis lang din sya tanggalin. This was formulated by TObi Britton, a world-renowned make-up artist...and same manufacturer sila ng MAC...d lang organic yung MAC. if ur interested just PM me :)

am not a guy ha...hehe!

yung concealer kc it covers the blemishes of ur skin, like pimple scars, eyebags, and other discoloration sa body pwede din...Bronzer naman it gives ur skin a bronze color effect or sun kissed effect...para medyo tan...sa face usually lang nilalagay, eyelids din.

foundation and concealer would probably make my skin look flawless. i mean isn't that what its for anyway?but then again i don't like putting on too much gunk on my face. i hate putting chemicals that can ruin my skin. skin care's the way to go. i use dove.

JPG's line is called Le Beau Male (the handsome male). According to an article, Gaultier was smart to disguise the make up on manly packaging (err...), for instance, the concealer looks like a pen, while a blusher (?) looks like a lighter.

Is it selling? Dunno. :p

Do not use smoothclear at all. It made my face real greasy and oily, contrary to what they claim. Color selection is too few and too light for Filipino skin....Why don't you try Nivea's Tinted Moisturizer, very sheer yet really smoothens the skin.
