Sa UP:

Fine Arts = weirdos

Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (MBB) = nerdies

BS Psychology = Med school wannabes

Education = tambakan ng mga transferees

INTARMED of UPM = the best bunch in the whole country

Philo-- genius. weirdo. mahilig mag debate.

(specific subjects)

existentialism: what? is that course being offered? weird
logic: lawyer sigurado to.

Art history-- naghahanap ng mga chicks; walang talent mag pintura. De natangap sa other departments.

pero by experience, mga philo student na first year hilig mag debate.. pag graduating.. mahilig matulog na lang.

pero too, art history daming sexy chikas. oo nga, wala akong talent mag pintura...

IS??? talaga???

in DLSU, IS is a prestigious degree, some of the professors in this department are very strict.. nagpapaiyak talga... some of them studied abroad... i remember my teacher in my instud subject... super galing mag turo... i heard tinalo nya yung mga taga ateneo sa debate... she's an alumnus of lasalle and she studied abroad too...

sad thing is pakonti na daw sila ng pakonti nowadays... pahigpit na ng pahigpit yata ang admissions... dami pa nagshishift sa kanila after taking a couple of majors... kasi di makayanan... mas mahirap pa daw sa political science ang pinag aaralan nila... and students who are majoring in this course are sent abroad... i guess they will choose yata if they want to go abroad or just take their practicum in the philippines...

anyway... DLSU by the way is housing the only European Studies Research Center and American Studies Research Center in the Philippines... since UP lasalle and ateneo lang ang merong IS related degree programs sa buong pilipinas... i guess...

i took my instud subject when i was in 1st year... mahirap talaga sya.. and to think na floating ko lang yun and minor pa sya... what more the majors of IS...

masama lang sa course na yan is yung job opportunities... kasi limited lang sa pilipinas yung mga international firms... and the governemnt is very strict in accepting applicants for those who want to work in embassies...

INTARMED, people who cannot be reached and who are in a totally different dimension (sometimes i doubt they even exist ^_^ i don't think i have met one in my whole stay at Diliman, ngc-cross reg b mga to?baka humble lang ^_^)

LIB SCI, SOCIAL WORKS & EDUC, kicked-out of ENG'G

BIO&Psych, kicked-out of MBB

BUSS ECON (BE) & ECON, kicked-out of IE and Stat, pero mahirap na courses pa rin. wala ng aangal, dito me galing ^_^ hehehe

BAA, sosyal but well-respected
BA, kicked-out of BAA at BE

PUBLIC AD & MASS COM, kicked-out of Econ, pero magaling mgEnglish...

mga taga - ibang courses (dami masyado to mention), OWS, meron palang ganyang course? sounds interesting ^_^

Excuse me?
We do not keep that kind of reputation in UP Diliman.
The BS Biology program in UPD is a quota course. Together with BS Psych, these peeps hold the highest representative percentage in UP Med.
The BS Bio program does not accept transferees from other schools. It does not accept shiftees that are not of cum laude standing. This is a highly sought-after program and is amongst the well-respected in the whole UPD.
I don’t know where you got that dim-witted idea.

pero dahil taga UP ka, peace pa rin tayo.

Hi, PRINCE_WILLIAM!!! :)

i know that UP BS Bio is a really a well respected and hard course. just like i believe that buss econ is also a well respected and hard course.

and yet as stereotypes go, other students believe that bagsakan ng ibang courses ang certain courses.

your post certainly cleared up the wrong impression that i had with BS Bio in relation to MBB.

actually, i was already bracing myself on comments such as yours :*) and you were really pretty nice about it (except for the "dim-witted" part, ouch!). thank you!

PEACE!!!

and to clear up the stereotype on my course as well, i believe B.S. Business Economics is also a quota course. :)
