Different Schools, Different Kinds of Elitism, Bashing, Etc.

What is it with people with these superiority complexes... They say they're the best in this and that... Asa pa sila na masama sa rep ng school nila... Kung Ateneo at La Salle, mayaman daw sila, magaling sa English sa Computer Studies etc... Kung U.P. Magaling daw sa lahat...

Are these people beating their chests in the forums about the goodness of their respective schools merely trying to build up their own egos?

Just because pumasa ka sa entrance tests eh magaling ka na? Pasalamat ka at nakinig ka nung high school at medyo nakapasok sa kukote mo yung mga tinuro sa'yo kaya ka pumasa ng UPCAT, ACET, et cetera (kung di ko na-mention yung ibang entrance, forgive my memory and ignorance).

Rankings suck! So school rankings by whatever standards should not get to people's heads. Di naman sa UAAP ang basehan nor sa CHED, etc. rankings kung gaano kaganda, kagaling, etc. ang inyong mga school.

I've met people from different schools, from the so called best and worst.

May magaling at may g*go lagi in every school. Pero get it out of your heads, because someone "down" there just might be the one interviewing you for your job. And to those who are from "down" there, wag na sumama loob nyo kasi may ganyan talaga. And for everyone, wag nyo na sayangin oras nyo mag-yabang, mag-bash, at mag-hanap ng ganti.

^ The problem is that they're really not equal. Some schools ARE better than others. the Big 3 (or 4 or 10) produce on the average better students than the ones "down there" so you really can't blame some employers if they sort out resumes based ont he school.

gaya rin na para sa ibang tao (like you), it doesnt really mean much kung sang school ka galing (in reality, it does especially with big corporations), it also does not mean anything at all if someone from the big 3 reports to you. walang kinalaman posisyon mo sa opisina sa pagkatao mo.

the trouble with analogies is they tend to pop out of one's mind too quickly and so fail to pass through the usual mind process needed for sensible PEXing. car model performance is not analogous with school performance but rather with an individual's performance. therefore, you and i can be as curious a match-up as a toyota assembled in the US and a mercedes assembled in malaysia. translate that to school-based worker selection if you can.
