This may sound elementary but I just want to know from you pips what's the proper way of comparing range of numbers. For example, 6-8 vs 4-5, is the difference 2-3 (simply comparing the lowest with the highest in a range) or by taking into account the lower and upper bound, which results to a difference of 1-4 (6-5=1 and 8-4=4).

Thanks.

You have to make the question more concrete because it's impossible to tell in what context exactly you use "compare." Otherwise, it might help to provide the means and deviations.

hehe, komplikado pala tanong ko.

Ganito kasi yan, halimbawa yung kotse ko nagcoconsume ng 4-5 liters ng gas samantalang yung nasa manual sabi 6-8 liters. pano ba iprepresent yung difference, straightforward na 2-3 liters or 1-4 liters?

I'd say the difference is about 2.5 liters
