SAN BEDA-Pop Cola in the PBL [Archive]

Is it true that the Pop Cola in the PBL will be composed of mostly Bedan players? I read from the newspaper that Pop Cola drafted Cordero, Paterno, and Bughao plus the rookie of San Beda, jason Griggs. The team will also be handled DAW by Caoch Nash Racela.

The team is still working daw to get Ricky Calimag and Ralph Rivera daw, former Red Lions, ayon sa isnag thread dito sa NCAA tourney. I hope thee team will also get the other former Red Lions namely: Jaymar Rivera, Jacques Gottenbos, Kerwin McCoy, and Francis Mercado.

Jason Grigg pala yung bagong rookie ng Beda that will be in the team of Pop cOla in the PBL together with Cordero, Paterno, BUghao, Calimag and Rivera. I dunno kung ang tawag nga sa team ay San Beda-Pop Cola but i hope so. At least meron na tayong team sa PBL like some of the collegiate teams that have their own team in the amateur league

The name is Jason Griggs. Fil-Aussie, 6'4" in height but is not a post player. Sipa out of Ateneo while establishing his residency in the UAAP.

Jason Griggs left Ateneo because he was not included in Team A. It was right decision for him to leave rather than waste his time waiting to be elevated in team A. Well maybe since SBC and ADMU have a common alumnus, Manny Pangilinan who was responsible for bringing in the Red Cubs to Ateneo, he may also be involved in the transfer of Jason to SBC. And its a good choice to transfer to SBC, a school that does not tolerate cheating, just to improve its standing in the bar exams - Honesty and Integrity above all.

hindi ba makakaapekto sa paglalaro nya sa ncaa ang pagpasok sa pbl? kasi rookie sya baka may residensy pa?

I just gathered from a competent source that the Pop Cola Panthers have suddenly decided not compete in the coming PBL Platinum Cup for still to be determined reasons.

huwatt??? jason Grigg will be playing for san beda?? he had some academic problems sa ateneo... he failed a subject handled by our department... tamad na bata according to the teachers who handled him.. =p

yah.. pop wont be playing in the coming PBL daw because San Miguel Corp. didnt approve of it .. they're trying to look daw for other sponsors... =(

The SMC President didnt sign the proposal of joining their Pop Cola in the PBL. Walang budget ang SMC.

PBL Commisioner Chino Trinidad is looking for a company to sponsor the Pop Cola line-up.

If theres not? the SBC Red Lions Team Manager James Sy (of the UTILCO International) might sponsor the Pop. Most of the Red Lions would line-up in the PBL. The Red Lions would carry the name of "JANSPORT" in the PBL. If ever.

sayang di kasale beda sa pbl.. i know yung Letran-toyota have joined the pbl next season... mas masaya para dalawang ncaa schools sa pbl.. I hope matuloy yung mag sponsor na alumnus na tga beda to push thru the pop-cola team. Sa letran kase sponsor ng alumnus nila na may ari ng toyota-otis.. I hope kasale beda para makita naman ng taga Uaap na makita ang galing ng ncaa sa pbl!!!

I agree. Sinimulan na ng Letran. Hopefully in the coming seasons, more NCAA teams would join the club. Ballers from the said league are equally talented with those from UAAP. Mas malaki lang talaga exposure and suporta sa kabilang liga.

isa sa mga taong nag straight ng 14 games during my stay sa beda.
sana we cld see more BEDANS sa PBL, mas maganda kung buong SBC seniors team...

di naman mangyayari yun kina cordero at paterno.. talagang gagamitin ni coach louie sila ;) lalo lalakas toyota pero maganda kasale na din popcola para dalawang sikat na ncaa schools kasale! :)

For what i know, baka nga kunin ng Toyota Knights ang service nila Cordero and Paterno, and maybe Bughao coz Toyota tied up with Nutrilicious where the red lions are lined up.

nutrilicious? teka...parang wala akong naririnig ng team nila sa PBL ah...and the only red lion who played with nutrilicious last conference was cordero, where he got the playing time he didn't deserve
