One thing is true about a championship against Letran. You can never do away with emotional fans and throwing incidents. All in all, it was still a controlled ballgame. Referees should be more consistent with their calls and manage the court with fairness. Advice to both fans, if the call doesn't go your way, don't take it upon yourself to referee the game. It takes away the essence of a fair game and it doesn't help your image. Congrats na lang sa Letran and to San Sebastian for one helluva ballgame. :D

Mas magulo nung late 70s at 80s.

Still it's not an excuse pareng Blue Knight na mambato kayo. I shudder at the thought of a Blazers vs Knights encounter in the finals where we would see an uncontrolled ballgame thanks to incompetent officiating and then we would see flying debris everywhere. It's just not the same. That's why we have an NCAA Committee to manage the games. We need not resort to the old ways, even if it's a mild version. Still, I commend you guys for stopping your fellow schoolmates from making the last ballgame into a closed-door encounter. Special mention to the ABS-CBN crew for keeping the cameras up close and personal with everyone involved. ;)

Just like in Game 1, the refs shamelessly feasted on bad calls! Feeling insulted by such demeaning agrogance of the refs, some avid Knight supporters could not contain their dismay and found an antidote for such eccentric and bias calls by throwing debris on court! Kita nyo naman, namulat din ang mga refs; the message was clear: Some fanatics of the knights won't allow the refs to rob Letran of a well-deserved victory! The message became clearer for the caloused refs: dapat maging fair and consistent ang calls nila.
6:06 to go in the third quarter: the Knights' fanatics sent out their message wild yet crytal clear: Walang "lutuan!";

Sana hindi yan mangyari, because if that happens, it would bring back memories of La Salle's last game in the NCAA 23 years ago. It was the "uncontrolled ballgames" that prompted Ateneo and La Salle to quit the NCAA. Anyway congrats to the Letranites for winning the championship, you guys deserved it.

Tempers flare, and like Bill Velasco says, "the crowd is getting edgy" whenever they see a bad call or a whistle blown against their teams. It would give other schools that perfect excuse to throw more debris because Letran did it before. Because we can't blame it all on the refs if a team losses. NCAA ang talo higit sa lahat. :(

When you look at it, ang pangit talagang tingnan ang incident na nangyari kanina..kahit ako ayoko ng ganon. Of course, both teams naman gustong manalo through a clean game. Pero pag nakita nilang nagiging bias ang mga calls ng referees syempre hindi mo mapigilan yung emotions ng crowd, at can they do? they don't have authority in the game kaya yun nalang yung way nila,
pero sana nag- "boo" at yell nalang sila to express their anger rather than throwing smething to avoid chaos.
But Look, when the throwing incident happen biglang nagbago ang decision ng ref, "NO FOUL ON SANTOS#5" see... kung tama talaga ang call niya at talagang nag-commit si Santos ng foul, hindi niya iibahin ang decision, paninindigan niya yung first call niya..Ya its true "tao lang din sila nagkakamali" but in times like that especially in the judgement game you need to be perfect! that's their job! Because every single call of the referee will greatly affect 2 the game. Pwede ba namang sabihin mong "sori coach kayo dapat ang panalo, mali kasi yung call ko kanina di pala 3 pts yun..2 pts lang pala.. may overtime pa sana..."

So next time.... basta! be responsible!

Just look at the recent incident in the UAAP involving Ateneo and Lasalle. As usual, the referees didn't have a clue as to what LA Tenorio did to Gaco near the final minutes of the 4th quarter then all of a sudden, hell broke loose and we were seeing an incident similar to the SBC-PCU ruckus.

If the referees are incompetent with their calls, such acts of violence will happen everytime in any ballgame. Thanks to the technology of TV replay and reverse angle shots, we will definitely get a better view of what happens next. The only thing we can hope for is a fair and sound judgement.

Altarboy: I agree with you that the NCAA has been hunted by incompetent referees for years now the sad thing about it is, we can't do anything about it. It is tough to blame the fans if they react negatively but we all just need to have that extra patience and civility. If we want the league to stay then let's all observe proper decorum inside the arena regardless of how the referees call the game. I hate to say this but in the NCAA, the bad calls have been consistent. Default na minsan kaya the players and fans needs to adjust na lang.

Pre, I disagree with you naman regarding yesterday's DLSU-ADMU game. I think it was well-officiated this time and everything could have been peaceful if not for this kanto boy who threw a punch.

At least collegiate bastketball hooliganism is not only found in the NCAA. Like what Studio 23 says about that other league, they really make them look good! :D :bungi:

I was able to witness that game live along with APcomers. We joked right after the game na sa NCAA walang masyadong gulo pero sa UAAP pala mangyayari. I think, somehow, it helps in the popularity of collegiate basketball. Kahit masama tingnan, exciting talga. School spirit at it's peaking best!

Now I'm beginning to realize that FIBA rules do not necessarily apply to leagues like the UAAP and the NCAA. Selective is the term used for such action wherein board members have the final say and FIBA is a rulebook they use to wipe their behind after you fail to shoot your crap in the bowl. Sad politics we're seeing here. And the saddest part is that we can't seem to find where fair play begins and basketball hooliganism ends. So is there such a thing as a clean ballgame? :(

Btw, count 6 victories for the Blazers, that's equivalent to 6 bottles of beer. Multiply that by around 40 plus members sa Green Peppers, not including the other Benildean pexers here, and there you have it! Instant party ka na! You owe everyone here 6 rounds of beer! Hehehehe!!! :evil_lol:

:cheers:

6x40=240 bottles of beer.

Installment basis: 120 gives. 2 bottles per give.

Ok na?
