which do you think is better? (for highschool ha)..my cousin and i are already planning for my niece's schooling next year and were looking for good schools where we can enroll her..i would be her sponsor kaci..:D i actually graduated from an all-girls school during highschool and that's what i want for her too..but my cousin is against the idea of enrolling her in such kind of school for some reasons. what do you think?:o

I don't think there's nothing wrong with Coed and exclusive schools. Pero opinion ko lang parang masmasaya and mascomplete ang highschool life sa coed schools (excuse me nalang since you were from an exclusive school).
Some say na masdiscipline mga students sa exclusive...pero tingin ko naman pare-pareho naman eh. Oo nga mas strict nga policies sa exclusive pero I know marami pareng kalakohan nangyayari sa exclusive the same as coed schools.
Better best way nalang ask your niece kung saan sya masmasaya 'total its her that is going to cope such environment for the next 4 years of her life.

go for co-ed schools. when your niece is already in college, that's the environment she will have to face. it's better to prepare her this early in dealing with members of the opposite sex.
that's all. :)

pero definitely pag HS, kailangan coed na

In my opinion naman, it would be better kung EXCLUSIVE since highschool pa lang naman. mas disciplined, mas ok, may breeding pa..pwede naman siya mag COED pag college na. :)

Honestly speaking...since I went to highschool in Q.C...wala ako masyadong alam na highschools in Manila other than those exclusive schools and chinese schools (I don't suppose Fil-Chi kayo)

yeah, co-ed. madaming nadedevelop ng bakla at tomboy sa all-girls and all boys eh... and it's better the co-ed way para accustomed na yung mga less exposed schoolers sa opposite sex. they study with them in the classroom so more or less they learn from the opposite sex without really getting ntimate with them... sa all-boys kasi for example have to visit girls in their houses or schools to get along with them... (thhough ganito ako noon... hehe...)

I would prefer being in a co-ed school because you get to mingle with every facet of sexuality: straight males, straight females, bisexuals and gays.

PAg exclusive school ka nag graduate, when you reach college, you will get horny at the sight of the first female... kahit di sya ganyan kaganda...
Well... that was THE CASE IN MY EXPERIENCE if you might say that I'm talking BS... O di kaya you're thinkin I'm a loser... sige pagtawanan nyo na ako...

although academic excellence depends on the educational institution, a co-ed school provides a more rounded approach to a child's sexual development. besides, i do not want my child to be alienated to the opposite sex.

grade school maganda yung exclusive.
but pagdating sa HS... dapat co-ed na. same thing with college.

Hey thanks for your replies everyone. It seems that almost everyone voted for CO-ED when it comes to highschool. Just wanna make it clear that its not true that your highschool life isnt complete when there are no boys around your school..coz in my case, eventhough i studied in an exclusive school for girls during highschool, i still enjoyed my highschool life so much..its one of my most memorable phases in life! :) anyway, i studied in a CO-ED university naman for college..:p
So, the winner: CO-ED! hooray! :)

i both experienced being in a coed and an exclusive school...for me...they're both ok...but as i was studying in a coed school in hs...i was really not satisfied...especially with my school's extracurricular activities...assumption's far more better with those kind of things...

i spent 12 years in an exclusive school. All I can say is that when I have a kid, I'd never send him/her in an exclusive school. What probably balanced my pysche was the fact that I had a lot of afterschool co-ed extra-curricular activities. I really like San Agustin and that's the school I would really consider.
Three things usually happen to students in an exclusive school:
1. Too eager to grow up
- Masyadong sabik sa opposite sex. Exclusive girls schools have higher unwanted preganancies occurring.
2. Homosexual Tendencies
- Especially sa girl schools. Tomboyish girls are at the height of popularity since they "substitute as guys".
3. Culture Shock
- Di marunong maki-relate sa opposite sex.

I came from an exclusive school for boys (LSGH) and my best friend is from Don Bosco Makati and there's one thing we agree upon when it comes to the subject: We shall make our kids study in Coed schools. Well, Ice Burn took the reasons out of my mouth.

ako:
grade school- coed
high school- exclusive (baliktad noh..)
now in college- coed
although pareho kong na-enjoy ang gs at hs ko, i prefer coed kasi mas masaya at mas memorable ang mga memories ko nung gs kaysa hs..

2. Homosexual Tendencies
Yeah... I am gay... (*joke*)

btw, i had this classmate with long hair... and looks EXACTLY like a girl (no kidding... no exagerrations....) For some reason, we got into a heated argument... as in malapit na magsuntukan... pero...
I chose not to fight him... kase mukhang babae talaga... I never hit a woman... :(

elementary and highschool..i would suggest na sa exclusive, kasi yung stage is kinda crucial-identity crisis, peer pressure, etc. It's so important to establish yun values, and i think since mas kaunti ang students sa exclusive, they are more nurtured and admit it, no matter what other people say, iba pa din pag may madre.
sa college..coed na, kasi for someone like me na exclusive school for girls kinder to college.., it's so difficult to relate and to be that at ease with the opposite sex. Lalo na pag first work mo, it would take time bago ka maging comfortable with them

exclusive, they are more nurtured and admit it, no matter what other people say, iba pa din pag may madre.
ganun ba? Eh bakit iba ang naging experience ko... :(
I was brought to an exclusive school by my parents... kase nagiging g@go daw ako nung elementary... as in wala na daw akong disiplina... puro kag@guhan nalang ang inaatupag ko...
Pero...
Nung dinala ako sa exclusive school... yes... di na ako naging g@go... Ngunit nag-iba ang mga pananaw ko sa buhay. If I were to tell you how I see the world, I bet ull think I'm some psychopathic killer... or some suicidal watever u wanna say...
Kase naman andami ko nakita na mas g@go pa sa akin... Mga masasamang elemento... As in pwede na maging alagad ni satanas... Inbis na maging pari...
Oh... since I said "pari" instead of "madre", u can tell i'm a guy...

well, i guess it really depends. other people are saying na if you're from an exclusive school- 2 lang un, either sobrang manang ka, or nagwawala ka. I guess its just a matter of choice- i could say na i've been with friends na medyo naughty, but it doesn't necessarily mean na just because their doing some naughty stuff, i'll do the same, they didn't even pressure me to do one. Until now, we still get to go out, ganun pa din sila-naughty, ako din, ganun pa din..manang hehe..
but I must admit na i had difficulty relating with the opposite sex, ngayon na lang ako nasanay. Before, i can't understand guys who are touchy, I didn't know that they're just being malambing esp. the ilonggo's.

It's true. When in public lang sila makiyeme pero kapag 2 lang kayo sa kuwarto sobrang wild. Para ka nilang nire-rape.

depende yan sa estudyante. minsan, depende rin kung anong klaseng anak ang bata... and yes, sometimes the child's academic development depends not on its exclusive/non-exclusive status but on the the teaching methodologies espoused by the institution.
lukaret ang napproduce ng mga exclusive schools na may mga teachers (and religious) na nagpportray ng "miss minchin image". pero students end up disciplined and studious when school laws are explained before being implemented to them.
but then again, kung may utak ang bata kahit saan dalhin okay lang. :D

well i studied in an exclusive school from prep to fourth year high school. there are advantages as well as disadvantages. but if i would be asked what type of school i plan to send my children (in the future), i'd still prefer exclusive schools.
