View Full Version : Role Players To look out for Next season
!!!

Syempre, based on this season's performance:
and, not including the 'stars' and lagi napapag-usapan. Santos, Intal, Kramer, Casio, etc.
Btw, I', not sure if ubos na playing years of some of these guys
1) Marvin Cruz (UP) - this guy is scary. One word...'tigas'. Has the guts to take the big shot, and carry his team on his shoulders. And he's a damn rookie! UP is dangerous next year specially if Reyes develops.
2) Warren De Guzman(UST) - Mr hustle. Reminds me of John Verayo. An undersized power forward who uses his heft to power his way into the hoop.
3) Nestor David (UP) - Simple, effective moves. Knows what to do with the ball when he gets it near the hoop.
4) Jojo Hate(ADU) - the guy you love to hate. Then again, he's using his villain status to its fullest. Good passer and understands ADUs triangle very well. Another 'John Verayo' power forward.
5) Tolentino (NU) - Good form and fundamentals specially footwork. Reliable shooter and seems to have the quickness to penetrate. Does'nt suffer from 'lifting my pivot foot' travelling first step. Dribbling and footwork would enable this guy to penetrate.
6) Cajayon ?(NU) - same as tolentino.
Notables: Gaco - sayang, hanggang this season ***.

Walsham, Arana, and Gatchalian.
I think Casio and Gaco will be Mythical 5 material next year.

hindi role player si cruz. or si de guzman...
legit scoring options 'tong dalawang 'to, but de guzman just has to share time with espiritu.

Well, what I meant was role-players this season. Or yung walang 'exposure'.
Casio - I doubt he will be mythical next year. Gaco pwuede pa, if plays are made for him.
Casio is deadly as an open spotup shooter on the weakside. Ball must rotate from the strongside to him. Di niya kaya tumira ng may bantay. he lacks shooting from a pick/ screen skills.

Casio's too short to shoot over his defender. He can only make it if its an open shot. He's not a Ritualo type of player who can shoot off a pick.
Gaco considering that he's 23 years old already turning 24 next year in Lasalle should AT LEAST reach the Mythical Team because of his age. Just like Mon Jose who was already 25 when he played his last year in Lasalle.
Gaco is even older than some of the players already in the PBA like John Arigo and Jimmy Alapag!

Also watch out for some of Ateneo's role players who could be elevated to starters next year like Doug Kramer, JC Intal, Ford Arao and Chris Tiu.

correct! and i think tolentino is on his final playing year..
here are my choices.
JC Intal and Doug Kramer (baka nga starters na sila next year eh)
Tim Gachalian (maturity wise, he will improve)
Nestor David (although baka maging 1st 5 na sya next year)
Nino Canaleta (hopefully next year ok na paglalaro niya. i was so disappointed with his play this season)
Ken Bono (hopefully he would not tun into another mike gavino)
Mark Benitez (had some flashes of brilliance while playing this year)
Jun Cortez (i think he won't dissapoint a lot of die hard tigers fans)
zach escueta(a back up PG next year for ADMU) i say this because i have seen him play during his red cub days..
