Among all the schools in the ncaa, which squad(s) and band(s) do you think is/are praise-worthy and which needs improvements. You may tell your opinions in school-by-school format.
(Hopefully, your replies are constructive and would not be offensive. remember this year's theme: "A Family Through Time") Tnx :)

Letran--(my alma mater) This team has improved A LOT this year and with that I congratulate them. Konti pa training and they will be one of the best na. Its about time that they prove their critics wrong, like me.
CSB--Reminds me mainly of La Salle. Well because Its a La Salle School. If it wasnt for them baka chaka pa rin ang mga cheers ngayon.
JRU--I peronally didnt like their moves. Pero in fairness to them they REALLY got their own style of cheering.
Mapua--Sila ang most experienced squad in the NCAA. But in my point of view they always fail in the Uniform department. Oh well we all have different tastes.
PCU--Medyo UST sila actually. I can hear some drum beats that is very much related sa UST beats. and the pom poms? Dudes you need 4 rolls of foil paper to make a pair of pom poms. I know kung saan nila nakuha yung idea ng pom poms nila. KAsi i used to study there eh. and some gay guy from UST taught us how to do that kind of pom poms. yun nga lang muka nagtitipid sila sa foil.
SBC--I havent seen their female cheerleaders but so far their male cheerleaders reminds me of the Blue Babble. Yun lang po!
Baste--Based on what i have heard medyo kailangan pa nila ng training. Pero all i can say is Revise your go uste i mean go baste cheer. because that is pulling you guys down. Baka huluhin kayo ni Bong Revilla. Hehehe! Just a little humour in here. NO offense ha
UPHR--This team needs A LOT of improvement. And i wonder bakit yun ulit ang uniform nila? Kasi parang i saw that uniform na 2 years ago...

im marge from pcu and im also one of the pep squad of jrs. my opinion is all of the cheerleaders made deyr best. wala namang pangit at jologz coz all of dem ay "[pinaghirapan"
but i want to tell u dat im proud to be a dolphin kasi almost dolphins lang ang gumagawa ng lahat ng types ng dancing liky ballet, jazz, hip hop, snap dance and more.

Here's my take on the NCAA pep squads:
CSB Green Peppers: They really raised the standards in the NCAA cheering department, i really think they gave a whole new meaning to the word "pep squad" in the league.
UPHR: Kinda needs more improvement, they execute the moves well but there's still room for improvement. Also the uniform can also be revised.
Mapua Pep: Great pep squad! I think its them and CSB that carries the NCAA pep squads. They have really good moves and stunts! And the choreography is almost seamless!! Only comment is their uniforms, they can design better uniforms than that.
Letran Pep: One of the most improved pep squad this year! Looks like they are in the process of re-inventing themselves.
JRU Pep: They have a very different style of cheering. Their moves is kinda jazzy or something like that. They seem to be on a league of their own.
Recoletos Pep: Another improving pep squad!! Theyre getting better as time progresses. CSB and Mapua better watch out for Baste and Letran's pep squads!!
PCU: Personally im not really fond of their moves, but in fairness they do execute their moves well. They should be more innovative though.
San Beda Pep: Little indians, thats all i have to say!! very original but the girl cheerleaders needs to be more polished!!
My rank:
Top Honchos: CSB and Mapua
INNOVATIVE: JRU and San Beda
Up and Comming: San Sebastian and Letran
Room for Improvement: PCU and UPHR

Sorry to say but UST never used a pompom. They use to stack those in our gym's stockroom but it was never used for cheering or UAAP purposes. And yes, these were foils but it was used for school-based programs by other colleges not Salinggawi.
Another objection is SBC and Blue Babble battalion, medyo malayo ang movement nila ng konti… maybe there are some resemblance since they competed before.
May comments:
Mapua : They have improved a lot. Nice dances sana with addition to floor routines. Improvement sana on the formation changes.
SSC-R; They are trying to keep up and get updated. I find this a good sign.
UPHR: To little routine with minimal movements.
CSB: Let the guys participate in dances although the girls has some moves already.

Yes the PCU pep know how to dance. The way I see it, their forte is cheerdancing.
CSB - I think sebastian10 and goaway have clearly stated what I would have wanted to say. But our squad has to improve. The boys lack the snappiness of the old squad. The girls can hold on their own but they need to learn and incorporate new moves.
Mapua - Yes, they have improved over the years. They will be a force to reckon with in the coming competitions outside the NC.
San Beda - Indian Yell is one of the best traditional cheers that I have seen since Ateneo and Lasalle.
Letran - Another squad that's improving over the years. Their traditionals are ok, and canned music is one way of showing their potential but it can still be enhanced.
JRU - they are unique, their brass band complements their routine.
UPHR - I suggest more improvements, I know you can do better in routines and the uniform need not be changed, routines complement presentation.
San Sebastian - Their collaboration with the Mapua Pep has shown their potential to improve as a squad. A possible contender for the cheering competition.

Sarap panoorin.:D Pwede ba sila gumawa ng ibang cheer that will let them have a sole identity from DLSU?
Sila talaga ang pinakamagaling when it comes to cheerleading. Pumapalya nga lang sa uniform. Maybe because they wanted to be unique lalo na sa uniform.
PCU- parang carbon copy ng UST...
SBC- babae na lang ang kulang kasi ngayon pa lang sila nagCOED. pero orig talaga mga "little indians" and the Indian yell. Mas makakabuti nga kung wag na lang mag cheerdance mga male cheerleaders ng Beda at magstick na lang sila sa traditional cheer kasi mas astig yun, like what DLSU,UST,ADMU,CSB,CSJL are doing. They should continue to preserve that kasi almost lahat are switching to cheerdancing na.

Mapua, Letran and SSB are the finest in the NCAA.
Other squads, parang style ng La Salle at Ateneo ang cheering. Try incorporating pyramids and other stunts in the routine.

I know UST never used pom poms. All im trying to say is that some gay guy from UST Salinggawi taught us that style of pom poms. Unfortunately PCU pep didnt understand the way it was supposed to be done. No offese pls. Just a comment.
Sa SBC naman kaya ko nasabi yun kasi sila lang yung team na nakikita ko every half tim na all boys na I normally see on Blu babble before...

First of all, you must understand that male members of the squad do the traditional cheers and I don't think that will change. Second, if we started doing cheerdancing routines then that would indicate a drastic change in the format in regards to the way the boys cheer. That's why they leave gymnastics, jazz dance and other dance routines to the girls. Kasi kung sayaw ang hanap eh magpapadala na lang kami ng dancers from other orgs like Footworks. Tradition is what keeps us embedded to Lasalle, but the girls are doing a good job of innovating choreographies while the boys focus on lifting besides the drums and traditionals. May headbangers, ravers, and hip-hoppers. :D

I think ur open for suggestions naman db? But I guess sometimes we have to break traditions inoder to win? Since NC I think will be coming up with a Cheering Competition, what I'm suggesting would be a plus factor already, plus the "Cheerdance exhibition" is the trend nowadays.

Breaking a long tradition of Lasalle cheering is not the only way to win championships. And we have proven that in the past. Cheerdancing may be the trend but it doesn't end there. ;)

Of course it doesn’t end there. But then again what works before might not work now…That’s the fact even in the corporate world. As I’ve said it’s a trend. Now if the competition is still “cheerdance” then its gonna be ur call if ur gonna stick to that. Other schools have adjusted already…May be its time you do urs. Just my two cents worth.

Since it is only a trend, maybe we could take it to another level of cheering. But then again, maybe we could join the cheerdancing bandwagon until such time that traditional and modern cheering styles would be treated as equals. :D

CSB has to stick to traditional drum beats and cheers because they are part of the DLSU System. You will hear the same cheers/ drum beats from all DLSU System schools... try watching DLS Zobel or LSGH. We can only change the routines every year but not the traditional cheers/drum beats.
Hope this clarifies things a bit.

walang time bumisita dahil busy sa work.

for me sopme of the schols improveand some stick to their "traditional" cheer.
JRU - Being a former "cheer marshall" of this schol our BINGO is still much awaited to the NCAA fans (esp. to the old ones). But we need to improve the band.
San Beda - Their "Little Indians" is still in, again (esp to the old ones). they need to gather more student & alumni support to the bleacher section.
Letran - They improve a lot!!!
SSC - Still the same... OK pa rin... nothing's new.
Mapua - The original stunt maker is still the best.
UPHR - OK... but need's improvement.
CSB - awesome!!!!!

Tuwing Finals and Final Four, pinapapunta yung SSC- Cavite Band to play. The Recoletos Pep really improved and im not just saying this because i'm a Sebastinian but if you compare them from last year they really have improved. I wont be surprised if they join the ranks of Mapua and CSB pep soon. Also The reason pala kaya wala sila sa ATC coz they had no preparation kasi nasabay sa NCAA finals....oh well lets just wait till next year!!!!
ANIMO BASTE! We're NUMBER 1!!!!

What can you say guys?

UP,UST,DLSU,ADMU... galing lahat ng NCAA.

People have different perception and tastes. One can be for this and the other for another. What I would like to praise is the ingenuity of the NCAA cheerleaders to prove their existence and impetus not bothering more to derail UAAP cheerleaders. NCAA cheerers are distinct and they have their own stuff going on. They are sucessful in uphelding school pride and competence. Their emblem must continue to banner and improvements in the long tradition of excellence persist.:o ANd what is the comment about mamundok na mg aIndians? the Red Indians are the pioneer in Collegiate cheering if you know your history, they are the epitome of true courage, proide, loyalty and respect to tradition not only for San Beda but for the entire NCAA. The indians have been existing since the 1940's mind you!! Let us just stop unwanted criticism and just be proud of what we really have in common, NCAA.

brad. let me comment on this one...i'm a bedan alumni, and also, a former cheerleader. the little indians has been out of the scenario for the San Beda Cheerleader's Association since last year. there are many reasons for that. one is, yung mga bata, ayun nagbibinata na so nahihiya na sila mag-perform. another reason is, the grade school dept. has been moved from mendiola to taytay, rizal. if there's any chance that SBCA's moderator can find new little indians, it will be very inconvenient on the part of the kids. their new campus is very far from the rizal memorial coliseum. don't be so hard-headed dun sa nag-comment na namundok na yung mga indians.

I should know, I was one of them. :D
