yeah, i saw some at the supermarket at Rockwell for about P650! Sana maging available na din dito yung Crest Whitening Strips...my aunt used it and it was kinda effective...kinda kasi hindi nya religiously ginamit. you're supposed to use it twice a day for 2 weeks to see optimum results. But she said it makes your teeth extra sensitive daw.

I've tried both the Colgate and the Crest whitening products. Here is what I think of the two:

I don't like that Colgate Whitening thing. It may be cheap but I just don't like how you use it. You actually put it in your teeth using the brush that came with it, and it does somewhat hurt when it touches your gums. Plus, you're not supposed to have your lips touch your teeth for several minutes until it dries. Now, imagine yourself doing that for several minutes.

I liked the Crest Whitening Strips although it's quite expensive -- it costs around CDN $40+ here although it is somewhat effective. You get exactly about 2 weeks supply of strips for both your upper and lower teeth. Using this is a lot more comfortable than using that Colgate brand and it's less messy.

And yes, using teeth whitening products can make your teeth sensitive.

hey heymikey.. I tried both products, too... here's what i think..

Colgate Whitening: It made my teeth sensitive after using it for a week... that's why I stopped... I also didnt like how its supposed to be applied -- smiling for 30 seconds (not "several minutes") without any saliva getting anywhere near your teeth... If you're like me who salivates uncontrollably, it could get quite messy... However, I DID notice some changes... It made my teeth a shade or two lighter just after a week..

Crest Strips: Effective... But if you have small teeth (like me), it could also get messy.. Some of the gel will get in contact with your gums.. Sometimes the strip slides out, too!

For those who would like to try, I suggest you use any of the two.. Just be patient... I guess it would take some discipline on your part for it to work -- dont smoke for two weeks, and avoid caffienated drinks and red white to avoid further staining.. I think both products are effective... It just depends on how you would like it done...

Note: If incase you'd like to know... once you apply the Colgate gel, you're not supposed to eat or drink anything for 30minutes, so i suggest you apply it after breakfast and before you sleep... For the Crest strips, leave the it for 30 minutes (as indicated) and dont laugh too much, cos you might swallow it ( I almost did) :*) ..
Goodluck!

:brush:

if i recall right, whitening works because it strips the tooth's enamel, and that's why they become sensitive.

For me, Colgate Whitening is not effective. I did not see any changes on my teeth after 2 weeks. I wanted to try Crest Whitening. Is it already available in the Philippines?

Sayang naman kung hindi effective mahal pa naman sya pero baka naman namali lang kayo ng paggamit.

I agree that you should apply it twice a day religiously for better results diba!

I still wanna try it myself and I'm going to buy one at Hi-Top kase 500+ lang daw dun! Pero I had braces......... kakatawa naman siguro kung *** part ng teeth ko na may brackets iba ng color... HAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! :D

there's already a thead on this. medyo natabunan na.

it is effective, to some degree. but the trade off to most is
nakakanipis ng gilagid.

mayrong reports na nagdudugo ang gums.

you may want to try something else.

Oct 23, 2003, 03:37 PM
no its not that effective as compared to the other competition that has a film to protect the "whitening liquid".

colgate whitening easily dissolves in saliva, so you better not close you mouth, drink or basically do anything with your motuh for the next 20- 30 minutes. too much hassle.

any whitening agent can cause pagninipis ng ngipin (hindi gilagid or maybe).

ah ok....san nkkabili nun?

desdemona
Oct 25, 2003, 12:04 PM
i haven't tried colgate, i've tried crest white strips though. but it was kinda hard coz you can't drink coffee bec you're teeth will be more sensitive. it was also hard to put the strip on the bottom coz of the saliva. and the strips doesn't cover everything.

but i think cybersonic toothbrush is the best. it comes with the teeth whitening gel. it's so easy to use. you just put the gel on the tooth brush and just use it like toothpaste. even my dentist thought i was using a bleach for my teeth.

I tried the Crest whitening strips when I was in the States last summer. A bit of a hassle to use, but my teeth definitely got whiter even before I was done with the two-week period. Hope that helped...

You mean Colgate Simply White? Hell yeah. My teeth is a shade lighter. :weg:

Just follow the instructions, and the results would be there by the time you finish the bottle (2 weeks)
