hi.. just wondering, are there any nice resorts or beaches near Mt. Makulot in Cuenca, Batangas? :)

A bunch of us are gonna climb there then follow up the trek with a beach outing.

I've heard good things about La Luz, but baka naman malayo na from Makulot. So far the maps on the internet are not so clear din kasi eh...

we went there for team building several months back...and we're going back next month for another team building. the place is great. the staff is friendly. the water in front of the resort is a marine sanctuary so the water's uber-clean.

the owner's some kinda cute also. :p

they have aircon rooms and non-aircon ones. i'm not familiar with the rates though. for overnight, the food's 600 bucks i think but that's buffet and covers lunch until bfast the next day. (including meryenda). there's a corkage for beer but you can bring other liquor na din.

bring aqua socks...the sand isn't that fine.

i have pics of the place. lemme know if you want to see them. :) then again meron din naman sa site nila. :D

I've been to La Luz around 6-7 times, but that was a long time ago. I first came to know the place when it was still a private beach. The "amenities", if you can call it that, was limited to a tiny nipa hut (which, I believe, is now the Premier Loft) with running water. All I can say is that I had the best times there.

The last time I visited the place was 3 years ago - when they were trying to develop it into a premier resort. The renovations weren't bad - I think they're great. But I miss the old, virgin charm of La Luz - when the only people wadding and snorkling in the water were us! It reminds me of that secluded beach on the strip of Pagudpud.

My favorite spot is right on top of the ledge/mini "cliff" ... dun lang ako pwedeng mag-text at maka-receive ng calls. Yeah, cellular signals are bad up there - but that's why you call it a vacation spot, anyway.

And yeah, the owner, Rommel Marasigan, is a hunk! One of the beautiful sceneries in La Luz.

Would I recommend it? Yes, I would - but not to those looking for virgin, secluded beaches. Waking up every morning and hearing somebody shout at the top of his lungs, "I'm the King of the World!" isn't exactly my cup of tea - the cliff/ledge is a favorite spot of tourists staying in other resorts. They do, once in a while, climb it and shout their hearts out. Other than that, I'd say it's a pretty decent beach.

Thanks for your replies! We're definitely going to check La Luz out :)

I got the prices na rin:
P4,200 - aircon room with food
P2,700 - fan room with food

Ang laki ng difference ng aircon and fan room in terms of price. Okay na ba yung fan room? Di na ba kami maiinitan or lalamukin dun?

Where's Terrazas?

check out the owner as well :*)

i asked yung mga nag-aircon na officemates ko, malamig daw sobra. i guess they didn't tinker around with their aircon settings.

nadaanan namin yang laluz beach resort, maganda at mukhang mahal talaga. we checked-in nearby resort which is Kabayan resort.

white sand jan sa laiya kaya yung pupunta ng laluz at kabayan resort pwede kayo mag-island hop kase may mga pinaparent naman na bangka. when we were in kabayan, naglakad-lakad kami papuntang east ang ganda para ka narin nasa boracay kase di pa sya ganun ka-exploited.

If you really want solitude and nature at its best, try Ligpo Island Resort in Batangas. A banca owned by the resort will bring you there pero you can leave your vehicle in their secured parking lot in the mainland. Their rooms are okay, wide windows overlooking the sea kaya napaka-airy. You wont need airconditioning. Before, their charge is around a thousand per head overnight, kasama na ang 3 meals ha. What to do? Well, for one, you can snorkel around the island, then you can fish or swim or just go fish watching. The island is about 200 meters away from the mainland kaya kapag lowtide, you can swim and then walk over the corals going to the mainland! Super talaga! Daming colored fish and starfish! At nights, super tahimik lang kaya the best for honeymooners. You may want to bring a mini-component kung gusto nyo may music sa gabi while drinking beer. Wala silang tindahan or anything, so you will have to bring all the stuff that you need though may corkage yata sila sa mga beer at alcoholic drinks. Pero kung 2 bote lang ng alak, itago mo na lang di ba?

I love the Philippines!
