View Full Version : What do you think of DIALPAD.COM?
Geez, with innovations like these, you don't have to spend more money on long distance calls and additions of new phone lines!
Imagine, pwede kang mag-make ng calls even though naka-online ka, unlimited long distance to U.S.ALL FOR FREE! Try it. It's cool.
May isa pa.. try www.hearme.com (http://www.hearme.com)
daming makikilalang chic sa Entertainment Blvd.. hehe KICKS!

I've tried to use that, tinkered with my PC's properties, the browser's java, etc. etc., but unfortunately, Dialpad didn't work on my computer.

Most of family lives in the states and it's great since it works on my computer. Free long distance calls! The only catch is that you need to have a fast connection otherwise, it's pretty useless.
Peace.

I agree with Kaboom! -- for me, it only works well in the early morning, when the Net connection is pretty decent. It's also a bit strange -- sometimes, the first party I call hears me rather clearly, and the next one is extremely choppy!
Still, you can't beat a free call!
As this service expands, it will become extremely problematic for carriers like PLDT that depend on long-distance calls for their revenues.

Hmm...maybe this is an appropriate topic for this....but, how do you get it to work? :( I've tried everything na. My browser's IE 5.0 and Netscape standalone 4.08.
Anong error msg ang nakikita mo?

dailpad works on IE5.0. i use it almost everyday to call my family in the states.Ü and yes, you need a fast connection. go cable!
it's so nice to be able to get to talk to them withoutt worrying about the charges. get a headphone though, you wouldn't want your conversation broadcast over the whole house. and besides, it echoes if you let the sound come out of the speaker.

does the called party incur collect-call charges? or does the "will you accept..." thing apply, in which case, there are no charges at all?
No.. walang 'hidden charges' yun :)
The only catch is that you can only call someone IN THE U.S. NOT to Philippines.
Very useful especially if you have relatives in other states.. login to www.dialpad.com (http://www.dialpad.com) and start calling. They will receive your call in the phone. Pretty neat, eh??

DIALPAD IS THE BEST!!!
Linaw ng linya kahit 11am...parang taga qc din yung kausap mo...Anyway nakaexperience din ako ng problem at first...di ako marinig ng kausap ko...then tinry kong nilipat yung cable ng external modem ko sa COM1..presto!! gumana agad...kaya try nyo nah at wag kayong mag sunog ng pera sa Overseas calls...tested nah toh ng barkada ko since december nah walang overseas calls toh and according to the Terms of Service ng DIALPAD walang hidden charges or whatsoever....You just have to sign up at http://www.dialpad.com and you can communicate to your friends in the US FOR FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!! and thats the bottom line coz bUrAot sez so!!!
Ira, do you still have PopOff installed in your PC? Uninstall that first so you can use dialpad because a keypad dialer window should appear for you to be able to dial and use their services :p (Yun ginawa ko nung di gumana sakin eh, lol)
I've been using dialpad for quite some time now. :) I'd also recommend Net2phone and Mediaring because it's sometimes hard to connect to dialpad at certain times of the day.

my cousin told me that they used dialpad but their connection is quite slow and there's an echo.. i guess they really have to use a headset and have a speedier connection/ISP.

Hmmm... I've encountered two problems:
1. I'm using MS IE 5.0 with a 28.8KBps modem and I don't seem to be loading/getting the DIALPAD pop-up window as others do... ???
2. I've plugged my microphone to the MIC port of the Sound Card (CMMI 8330) but I can't seem to record my own voice using Sound recorder or whatever program. I've gone to the MULTIMEDIA CONTROL PANEL and the RECORDING BUTTON is grayed out... Help??!?

guys, i suggest u read the FAQs and the tutorial provided by dialpad in their website. there u can find the answers and solutions to ur very same questions.
and oh, u can also use dialpad for local long distance calls, but the config would be dialpad-to-dialpad, unlike the usual dialpad-to-landline when ur calling the US.

Dialpad is great, but unfortunately my mom still doesn't like usin it and we have to pay huge long distance bills. Sometimes, if itz too clogged up, your connection would be cut off.

when i tried it, its like using a cel fone
sketchy & there's echo at times and sometimes the receiver can't hear you.
its very reliable to use when the other party has no pc or if you want to go cheap & don't need to make long distance calls
;)

I use Dialpad often. However, there are certain times na super linaw ang dating nila sa kin pero nde nila ako maintindihan. Choppy ang dating ko sa kanila. But most of the time, it's ok naman. When it comes to net connection, I think kelangan mo talaga yung medyo mabilis ang connection. Pag nagla-lag, the called party thinks na nawala ka, pero they hang on. I'm also thinking na baka me kinalaman din ang sound card. I'm using an updated ESS Solo Audio card and I'm planning to shift to Creative Sound Blaster's MP3+. Baka mas maganda ang maging connection. I hope Dialpad can make this service accessible not only to the US but also in other countries. Ang mahal-mahal kasi ng long distance calls eh! As compared to PhoneFree and Pagoo, mas ok na ang Dialpad.

offtopic..
merong hottelephone.com na 30 countries ang included hindi lang US.. pero di ko pa nasusubukan..
lately ang dialpad na gamit ko.. di na gumagana.. kasi overloaded na ata ang system nila..
what with the propensity of pinoys doing telebabad.. hehehe

Ok siya kasi libre pero yong lang nga you need a faster baud rate to get a better signal. Kung minsan putol-putol kapag mabagal ang connection...
