Nakalimutan ko na ang mga vitamins ng anak ko nang sya ay 2 years old. Pero if I were you, ask your pediatrician. Mabuti nang lahat ng vitamin and medicine intake ng anak mo ay recommended ng doctor, kasi 2 years old pa lang sya. Siguro kung mga 8 or 9 years old na pwede ka nang mamili sa over-the-counter medicines or vitamins.

naku, lahat na ata ng vitamins sa market nainom ng baby ko, pero pinagsasawaan at after a few days nayaw na niya uminom. ang prescribed ng pedia namin ay ceelin for vit c at kiddie pharmaton. anyway, pahirapan din painumin baby ko kaya rin siguro ayaw mag-iinom ng vitamins. if you buy vitamins, yung smallest size lang muna para ma-try ng baby mo kung gusto niya taste. orange flavor so far ang okay, green apple at cherry ayaw ng anak ko sa vitamin flavors. pero as long as nagmilk pa siya at magana sa solid foods, okay na rin hindi regular vitamin intake.

Do you guys know of any effective vitamin brand that helps kids grow taller? :)

Fairy_nd_meadow
Jun 23, 2004, 09:34 PM
Hmmm... Just to remind people that any recommendations given here may not be the best for your child - we always suggest that you go to your Pediatrician who will recommend over-the-counter vitamin supplements for your child.

Frankly, I haven't seen any vitamins here that promises additional height for kids, except vitamins for proper bone growth and development.

Just make sure you give the kids enough milk especially fresh milk if available. If the kids is old enoug to eat cheese then it would the best too. Both is good for bone growth & development as well.

I don't really think there is such as thing as vitamins for particulay growth

Cherifer super effective daw talaga. even yung Cherifer for adults? my sister (who is 18!) still takes it, and would you believe it, tumatangkad parin sha??!?!

anyway, i just started giving my 10month old baby Cherifer this morning. Dati, poli-vi-flor sha, kaso parang napag-iiwanan sha sa tangkad ng mga cousins niya na same age. and its unusual, kasi sobrang tangkad ng daddy niya.

then i found out, his cousins take cherifer. that must be it. kaya, i asked my pedia if we could switch. :)

cherifer is really a good vitamins it is supplement for the brain and growth of the child. You can also use growee as an alternative for the cherifer para naman hindi masubrahan. i am using cherifer for 4years now, and my child is really growing well, kaya lang para mas active ang mind niya to think, and she has a mature mind at the age of 4. akala nga ng mga kakilala ko na she is 6years old kasi nga the way she reasons out.
maganda talaga ang cherifer, proven na yata iyan, pero dont forger the vitamin C, para at least my protection rin siya sa ibang sakit.
hope this will be help to you:yum:

my son is taking cherifer, clusivol, tikitiki, nutricee and eneraplus. ina-alternate ko sometimes pero yung cherifer talaga ang mine-maintain. bale yung iba, pinapainom ko lang kung type ko.:D

I have a question. Is it okay to give your child ng maraming vitamins? Like for example, you give him cherifer and clusivol ng sabay.

:glee:

I used to do product development for a nutritional company.

Be careful with giving too much vitamins to youe kids. The "fat-soluble" vitamins (Vitamins A, D, E, K) can be overdone. Stick to one brand only and follow the manufacturer's instructions.

I don't recommend this. More vitamins does not mean better. You could seriously poison your kid and cause permanent damage to their livers and kidneys.

My suggestion is for you to find the US Recommended Daily Allowance chart from the internet and use that as a guide. Look at how much vitamins your kid need and meet it 100% and don't go over that. Most baby food nowadays are "vitamin fortified" as well so it's easy to overdose if you get overzealous with supplements.

When it all comes down to it, it's going to be the parent's genes that will determine how big he'll get. If both parents are 5 feet tall, no amount of vitamins will make your kid 6 feet tall.

I use Cherifer for my toddler and ang lakas kumain! It has the chlorella growth factor in it so I'm sure it also boosts up his growth as well as his appetite. I'm just a bit concerned coz it doesn't have iron which is very important in a growing child. So I'm thinking of supplementing it with Polyvisol, the original vitamin his pedia gave him, I just don't know if it'll result in an overdose (hafta ask his pedia bout it). So right now it's still Cherifer, and he's growing big and his appetite is really good. I'm here in the US where there's no Cherifer so I hoarded boxes and boxes of Cherifer from Pinas :D

Cherifer is good just make sure that you also give enuf milf to your kid para malakas yung bones nya kasi syang naman kung ang tangkad tapos weak yung bones, mas prone sya sa mga injuries and sakit. mommies , ano vitamins ng mga anak nyo ??? ano yung naging effect nung ginamit nyo yung vitamins na yun ?? is it bad kung madalas ang pag palit ng vitamins for our babies ???

yung daughter namin after she turns 1 year old ang vitamins nya is Nutrilite Chewables for Kids at Nutrilite Acerola C. Yung effect sa kanya di sya sakitin, malakas ang immune system nya na kahit sa school may mga ubo or sipon classmates nya di agad sya nahahawa and I remember nung nagkalagnat sya umabot ng 40 naglalaro pa sya sabi nga nung pedia nya sa ibang bata raw yung at her age nakahiga na lang pero sya hindi e.kay mahusay sa kanya yung Nutrilite kasi may additional na phytonutrients pa na kasama aside sa mga vitamins.Even us that our brand sa vitamins namin. To give you an idea of the contents eto:

NUTRILITE CHEWABLE MULTIVITAMINS/MINERALS P825.00
90 Tablets
- good tasting chewable food supplement providing 11 vitamins, beta carotene and 4 minerals with phytonutrients from fruuit concentrates of Acerola Cherry, Passion Fruit, Pineapple, Guava and Cashew Fruit, formulated to supplement your child's daily vitamin and mineral intake.

NUTRILITE ACEROLA C P540.00
110 Tablets
Acerola Cherries are known to be one of the world's richest source of Vitamin C. Every tablet of NUTRILITE Acerola C contains 67mg of Acerola Concentrates as well as citrus extract delivered through NUTRILITE's PHYTOFACTORS Plant Compounds. Tablets have a delicious, cherry flavor

Ayan once a day lang yan kung inumin after meal. Nakamura pa kami kasi ilang tablets yan compare sa mga celin or any other synthetic vitamins. Yan kasi purely organic. By the way may 90 days money back guaranty yan meaning pag di nagustuhan ng anak mo you can refund your money.Pero i doubt kung di nya magustuhan yan. Let me know if you want to try it. I'll get in touch with the distributor ng Nutrilite. *okay*

Maybe try this trick....dont let the baby sleep during the day tapos im sure sa gabi tulog yan....make some thing na pagkakaabalahan nya sa araw...then by 7 or 8 pm patulugin mo na sya. What i did to my daughter nung age na ganun....nag lagay ako ng mga iba ibang planets, stars, shapes sa ding ding yung"glow in the dark" so I let the lights off tapos magbibilang kami ng stars or parang educational learning things...tapos mapapagod eyes nyan then sabay tulog.... :) try mo lang...kasi my daughter was super hyper noon...or maybe basahan mo ng story sa bago matulog...will help also yun nga lang pag nakasanayan...u have to do it religiously :rotflmao:

when my son was only 1.5 years old (now he's 3 years old) grabe talaga ang hirap ng patulugan to the point of losing my patience. So what I did was I surfed from the internet what would be the effective way of putting your child to sleep. Yun pala you just to be consistent in everything that you do for them. During afternoon nap, I make sure that after his lunch, wait kami for about 30-45 minutes then I will tell him to turn off the TV because it's bed time. at first siempre mahirap but after a while, sya na din ang nagkukusa for his afternoon nap. Same thing goes with night time. After his "bath time" (that's our term in the house) he already knows that it's "bed time" again. And usually that's about 8pm. So lights off na talaga. Eh I have 1year and 5 month old baby girl so pag lights off hindi ko na hinehele si baby. Sleeping time na talaga. Yun nga lang I have to say good bye to my primetime programs 'coz I have to teach my children the discipline to sleep early. Well I guess we as parents common na sa tin ang magsacrifice for our kids.:)

My son is almost 3 years old, he was never a big kid. I used to worry about his size. Then my friend recommended Jungamals for him. When he went to see his pedia, the pedia was very happy about his growth :) Maganda raw paglaki nya.

So dapat balance lang, no too thin not too fat. Important thing is that he is getting all the necessary nutrients that his little body needs.

Pwede yung Jungamals for kids 2-8 yrs old.

Info about Jungamals:
The most complete children's multivitamin/mineral supplement available on the market
Each serving contains as much calcium as a full eight-ounce glass of milk
Delivers a more comprehensive blend of antioxidants for added protection from environmental toxins.
Supplies more nutrients necessary for keeping a child's immune defenses healthy.

yung daughter namin after she turns 1 year old ang vitamins nya is Nutrilite Chewables for Kids at Nutrilite Acerola C.

*okay*

You'll have to ask your pedia that.

I started giving my son polyvisol when he started on solids at 4 months. Because my pedia said it was optional to give infant drops if the baby is fully breastfed. However when I started him on solids, I opted to give the vitamins as a supplment.

No. Kase ang nirecommend ng pedia ko for my 1st baby is nutrilin and ceelin tapos don sa 2nd baby ko growee and ceelin.

better to ask your pedia. mahirap na if you just give vitamins to your kid dahil sikat at kilala yung brand. i'd rather not risk it. when my kids were younger, they were prescribed to take polyvisol and ceelin, as they got bigger, they moved to nutrilin, growee/cherifer and ceelin. all advised by the pedia.

Depende sa pedia mo yan. The reason you need to ask you pedia first because iba iba ang vitamin content ng mga vitamins na yan. I gave my baby tiki tiki from 1 month old till now he's 1yr and 8 months old na.

anyway.... i think kung healthy ang baby and breastfed purely, pwede ngang wala eh...

and pwede rin sigurong i-try mo nga if gusto mo

my niece's pedia prescribed tiki-tiki.... but my SIL noticed that her baby sneezes a lot and has more colds, so she stopped giving her tiki-tiki...

minsan kasi, allergic pala sa preservatives yung baby....

and that goes for all medicines and vitamins ha? not just tiki-tiki...

my baby takes nutrilin and ferlin din eh....

my daughter's pedia did not recommend any vitamins yet, kasi siguro 2weeks old pa lang baby ko nung nagpunta kami sa pedia nya. and sabi rin ng pedia nya, my baby is doing quite well. kaya siguro wala ni-recommend na vitamins.

actually, galing sa elders ko *** suggestion ng tiki-tiki. and since walang tiki-tiki dito sa singapore and limited ang information sa internet, na-curious ako kung me mga parents bang until now pinapainom ng tiki-tiki baby nila. kasi, parang ang tagal ko ng narinig ang tiki-tiki, and am wondering if the vitamin still exist. kulit kasi ng nanay ko eh.

pero, of course, wala ako balak na painumin ng tiki-tiki or whatever vitamins ang baby ko na nde recommended ng pedia nya.

My baby's pedia didn't recommend any vitamins. I only started giving my son Polyvisol when he stopped taking formula milk (when he turned 1). To date, he has never been sick (he's 14 months old na).
