I GOT to meet Kaye Palomares (who has a love child with Jericho Rosales named Santino). It's not hard to see why Echo fell for her although they have parted ways already. Kaye could pass for a movie star but she opts to lead a private life.

"It's hard enough already when I have to sign something in a store and people automatically ask me if I'm Echo's wife when they see my name. You know how the Pinoy mentality is 'pag may anak kayo para na rin kayong mag-asawa. So sometimes I just invent a name when I sign receipts so there will be less hassles."

Kaye harbors no bitterness towards Echo. They have remained friends. Echo is no absentee father to Santino. To protect their unico hijo, the couple agreed not to grant television interviews about their relationship.

Lately, rumors have been spreading that Kaye is heavy with Echo's second baby.

"That's not true. Besides after Echo, I have no plans of having a boyfriend again. My son is quite possessive. He wants to be a surfer someday."

The evolution of Echo

IT may have been years since Jericho Rosales won the Mr. Pogi title in a noontime TV show Eat Bulaga, but according to womenkind, what makes the 24-year-old hunk absolutely appealing is the boyish charm he’s always had. Enough to disarm even the most guarded female, they say.
Apart from his virile good looks, a fun sense of humor bagged the title for Rosales, as well as a slot in ABS-CBN’s Star Circle Batch 4. Apparently, the playful teenager said his real name was Eulogio Mormolo in the Q&A portion, which had the audience and the judges in fits of laughter. From that day on, the future turned brighter and brighter for the young boy, even if his succeeding projects took him to the somber world of drama.
“I wanted to try it, but they wouldn’t let me,” he chuckles. “They always want to make me cry.”
All the weeping has of course paid off for showbiz critics say that Rosales is one of the most credible actors of his generation.
Does he ever regret not living a life outside show business, though?
“Being an actor is perfect for me. I get to be—I don’t know—a pilot for six months, a fireman for a day. I can be whoever I want to be.”
To keep him sane from the brouhahas of tinsletown, Rosales has nailed down sure-fire ways of keeping his life simple. He plays a lot and laughs a lot. He also says that his endorsements and other showbiz forays may keep him busy for a time, but they also teach him a lot about discipline, which keeps him grounded.
His life, according to Jericho, is much like his favorite pastime—surfing. In anything that he does, he makes it a point to hit the waves, and look for the challenges. That’s how the man has evolved.
