They launched the discount card shortly after lunch. There were only 16 people who were qualified to get one - all of whom are senior management (Ms. Marife, Ms. Pau, etc.) I can't remember if they mentioned which shops/establishments honor the card, maybe they got a list. :)

I have a friend who works there in the new telecom account. Ang higpit daw ng metrics dun! Sobrang demanding daw yung client. Actually, her batchmates are also doubting if they're gonna be regularized since it's one of the largest and most toxic accounts outsourced to the company.

I heard that these people have to process at least 5-6 cases per hour (40-48 per shift)! Isn't that tough considering that my friend and her barkada barely average 2-3 per hour (16-24 per shift)? Marami na sa batch nila ang 24 cases per shift!

Think of this: the account is still fairly new and most agents haven't got a hang of it yet. I really do believe that it's still too early to make any conclusions. I remember when I was still a new rep in Convergys. Dami ko rin angal...mahirap metrics, strikto sa policies, etc., but as I grew with the program and eventually left it to move on to another one within the company, I realized that before I would open my mouth in frustration, I would have to actually be more credible and experienced.

may bumabagsak pa ba sa final interview? the way the interview went, i feel it's just for formality. someone told me that i'm basically in if they're going to do a background check na lang... pero i'm still scared. i really hope to pass and work at convergys.

tnx talk to hr asap and tell them your situation. chances are, they're gonna move your training at a later date. that is, of course, if you will give them a valid and reasonable excuse. ;)

- Not all reps are qualified to be promoted (skill-based as well as looking at their attitudes).

- Convergys believes in diversity. We would want to bring good practices from other industries/organizations into the company .

Marami tuloy nag-iinisip kung competent nga ang mga tao na andun sa Ortigas. Minsan mag-popost rest day tapos pagbalik deadline na pala that day. Sinabi pa nga nila sa TL ko one time check the bulleting board, sabi nga ng TL ko sa kanila wala naman kayong nilalagay doon bago kami nag-off tapos ang sagot lang nila basta di raw puwede. Wala man lang consideration. Gusto nila pumunta ka araw-araw sa opisina para mag-check ng postings at kulitin ang TL mo na pumasok para pirmahan ang endorsement kahit rest-day. Like sa trainers, madami na rin naman qualified agents na maging trainers kaso walang postings na internal tapos ngayon sandamakmak ang hinahanap nila sa Jobstreet. Ewan ko sa kanila. Kung ako sa kanila mag-isip-isip sila or gumawa ng matinong action kasi hindi lang naman mga TL ang naiinis sa HR pati ang mga current agents.

I understand. Believe it or not but somewhere along the way, my application got lost too (and a couple of other applications). Me and some of the other trainers got promoted because we knew we were qualified and literally, hunted down different people for our application (HR included). I cannot assure you anything but if you really want something so bad, and you know that you deserve it, you have every right to ask about your application (whether you are being considered or not). Hey, at least they'll remember you for sure.

hi! i was able to attend the orientation last week sponsored by CONVERGYS here in Cagayan de Oro. i think the speakers were great naman tsaka very alluring yung Company itself. what's more, binigyan pa kami ng libreng Module on Career Preparation for Job Hunters, which, i think is really very admirable talaga about the company considering hindi lang naman barya-barya siguro yung pagproduce nun. at we're at least 50 attendees there, plus meron pa sa isang university kase dalawang universities sila nagconduct. well, no doubt Convergys is a RICH company nga.

ganito ba talaga ka-gallante ang CONVERGYS??



we're told to go back on July 5 at a hotel for our initial interview. kinakabahan na ako, ano kayang mangyayari dun? will i do good in that interview? what about the SIMULATION thing? and the 6-week TRAINING daw?? saan naman kaya i-held yun sakaling makapasa ako (my God, this is kinda jittery).



to be honest, THIS WILL BE MY FIRST TIME to be interviewed for any job kasi naman i'm Self-employed nga and i really don't have experience regarding job interviews. it's ironic nga, eh, kase ako yung gumagawa ng mga Resumes and Applications ng mga applicants for how many years (kasi i'm a computer encoder/artist, although i graduated BS Psychology) but here i am, soooo AMATEUR in this kind of stuff/experience.

anu-ano ba ang mga preparations na kakailanganin dito, mga peeps? help me naman, i really NEED this job much as much as i WANT it -- WITH THIS COMPANY.

at sakali ba matanggap kami saan naman kami i-aasign? magkano salary to be exact?

recently, i got a call from convergys. my application was considered daw for TCCR position for convergys alabang since malapit haws namin dun. i already passed the phone interview. next step na ako for tomorrow.

:hmm: pero i'm having doubts pa rin kung okay ba lumipat ng call center. comsci grad ako and almost 4 yrs na software engineer pero sobrang napapagod na ako mag-program and i'm not happy anymore so i thought of venturing to a new field pero ang fear ko eh baka mababa ang sweldo compared sa salary ko ngayon at baka wala ding career growth. :shrug2:

i would like to solicit some inputs from you dahil first-hand experience niyo nag-work sa convergys... :)

last friday, i completed the first three stages of the screening process *pexadik* and was asked to come back yesterday morning for my final interview. after the interview, which i passed as well, i was told to attend the job offer presentation in the afternoon of the same day. after reading the contents of my contract, i was undecided so i brought the document home with me for review. they gave me until 10am the next day to think it through. it is now 4:49 in the morning. i have decided to sign the contract :deal: and im leaving for convergys in a couple of hours to return the docs and claim my "starter kit," sort of. im a little bit apprehensive about the CCR position *phone* since i wasnt ever enthusiastic about it from the beginning. i just wish to find myself enjoying the training and the company of my teammates. already made a few friends yesterday and i guess thats a good sign. i start training on july 8.

Hi. I'm flattered you think that way, but I'm really no guru. I just try to help as much as I can.

Anyway, I don't think I'm going to be much help but, to answer your questions...

On salary... I have no idea how much exactly. :shrug: I just know that there is a provincial rate for compensation (as governed by law) which is relatively lower than that in the metropolis. I don't know if this will apply if you're in the city within a province. Let's just say that generally, a call center agent earns no less than 10K a month (in any call center). In Convergys, I might be allowed to say that the rate is higher, and this doesn't include meal allowances. :D For an entry level position, that's generous compared with entry level positions in other companies/industries, but for a business person that might not be much, so you may wanna think about that.

On location... I don't know where you're going to be assigned, probably somewhere near where you are. We haven't really been told where else we're opening, but I don't expect the company's going to move you to Manila just to work.

On preparations... you most likely need to brush up on oral communication skills, English grammar, and then internet skills for the technical exam. Other than those, maybe a good night's rest and basic interview preparations are okay.

i called the DTI office kanina and the woman on the phone told me that those who will be IN sa Convergys :D will be assigned in Manila. she even urged me to submit na my resume to them before the scheduled screening period which is set on July 5 - 9 here in Cagayan de Oro at a certain hotel.

right now i'm busy tutoring myself on HTML to redesign my website at geocities because i'm gonna be loading more infos there about myself and i would just reflect it on my resume. like online personality quizzes which speak many things about me and other stuff like my production of a certain material for use of our local residents here some time in 2002.

i don't know, i'm a bit hesitant pa nga kase malalaman nila kung ano yung message board na pinagkakaabalahan ko ngayon aside from PEX and i'm afraid they might do some surveillance on me afterwards. :p it's just that i gained a recognition or award previously in this site and i want to add it on my resume hoping it will help. :) what do you think, is this a sound idea? or i will just forget about it?

and a followup question: what are usually included in the IT exam? is it that difficult?

Hey, in the real world, not everyone is "sunshine-y". Some people are like that, some aren't. I really believe that for as long as you are not "harmful" (or so) to other people, don't bother changing.

However,it would be good to work on your social skills especially if you are aiming for promotion. Most importantly, you can make the CVG environment a better place to work in if you do become more sociable.

ok, been training for a week now. its intensive, very high required passing mark. (still cant believe they took me in) they have got the best training personnel and tools. the pay is very competitive. but for those seeking a higher position, they a have a policy of promoting employees who are already working for them, so the ones who were in the company before have an advantage. lets see... those who want to apply, the ortigas office at the robinsons equitable tower is less crowded than makati. get ready with your requirements, get ready to talk and talk a lot about yourself in the best english you can muster. attitude counts, a lot.

Toxicity can actually be seen in different forms per program. Here's just a list of some experiences I had in the past (even when I wasn't in Convergys):

A. Sales accounts
- not reaching your numbers/quotas
- being in the bottom of the closers' list.
- not being able to upsell or to make a sale per day.
- (outbound) being rejected or not even listened to by the person you were trying to get passed by (secretaries, etc.)

B. Technical Accounts
- 30-minute lunches
- when it's queueing (no wait time for the next call to come in)
- 3 -hour "lola" calls

C. Customer Service, Billing, etc.
- really difficult customers
- again, when it's queueing

i worked on a cargo ship last year,as a steward.
the social environment on that job was much much more toxic.
in my new job at least you got the support of your team to fall back on. (i hope) and im no stranger to long hours.

Yep,I used to belong to one of the tech accounts in CVG. However, I'm now with the one of the newer accounts dealing with customer service.

I do hope that this is a really good move for you. Congratulations!

For those who are applying, it would help if you talked to the interviewer assigned to you about your options. Say, you live near Alabang and you are assigned to Robinsons, and you could work in a non-tech program, then it would not hurt to tactfully discuss this with the interviewer. Hey, we all need to be practical nowadays, aight?

i pass the final interview and sabi ni ms. alex that i have to wait until or after 2 weeks for the call and after 2 weeks,no call pa rin.yung frend ko kasi pass sa CVG daw tapos after 2 weeks din tumawag pero di na nakapag hintay sa tagal ng call so ibang company napasok nya..so di pa rin ako nawawalan ng pag asa. its a good company so hindi naman siguro yan nagpapa asa meron naman sigurong ibibigay yang courtesy letter whether you pass or not sa final interview diba?so any comment?

since the requirement for the ccr's/tccr's is urgent, i believe u should be receiving a call for the job offer the same week, if not, a week after ur final interview...yung sa akin ksi, same day of the final interview yung job offer eh....oh well, m not from recruitment so i wouldn't know rin what are their procedures....

Ako rin I passed the final interview with Ms. Alex. She told me to wait for a week. I had my final interview Monday. Tapos Friday, I called and followed up. (mainip ba? hehe). Monday, she called me for the jobo offer.

I suggest you follow up. Call them up kaya.

Help me people, please. I had a job offer for a techie account noong June 25 but I wasn't able to show up sa Convergys Ortigas because I had to go to the province due to an emergency. I was interviewed June 24 by Ms Alex, and after the intwerview, she told me to show up the next day (June 25) for a job offer. Malas, the night of June 24 I had to leave. I'm still in Negros right now, and I will be back the first week of August pa. But the thing is, I still want the job VERY BADLY. :( Ang dami kong pinagdaanang tests bago ma-hire, so I don't want to have all my efforts go to waste. Ms Alex told me that Convergys will have continuous hiring until September, and I hope na maging active applicant man lang ako. The problem is, can I contact Convergys through email? I tried emailing pero wrong email address naman yata yung nasa sakin kasi laging nagba-bounce back yung mails. Please, can anyone help me na ma-inform si Ms. Alex or whoever about my situation? I am still REALLY INTERESTED in working for Convergys.

i applied for tccr originally, but a lot of my wavemates were telling me they signed up for ccr position but got bumped up to tech. we were wondering if the score in the initial screening and tests had to do anything with it.

Hi! i'm back!

i regret to inform you all that i failed the FINAL interview this morning because i talk too much, i guess :) and i said i prefer to work in Manila than, say, Cebu. and i kept inferring that in my answers without thinking that it would affect my chance to be accepted because i came to realize afterwards that the interviewer wanted to emphasize - which unfortunately, didn't cross my mind - that Convergys, as much as possible, want their employees to be relocated to the nearest site, blah blah blah, and i MISS that, oh my, God!


so, even if i passed the previous tests with flying colors - Initial Interview and Simulation (i was one of the four who finished it early even if those 20+ started 20 minutes earlier). . . well, i guess those who've been there since the first day, i guess around a hundred, would be surprised that i didn't make it, but that's how it is now, and this morning when i got the letter and read the "i regret to inform you" liner there, it never felt right, and i wanted to ask my interviewer why, why i didn't pass . . but i just have to accept the fact that i didn't because of something that i've said, not because of my lack of skill or qualifications. . .

so frustrated at first, but now i'm quite alright. maybe God just wanted me to experience those stages to get a feel of what call center work/process is all about. . .


and i'm planning to go to Manila to apply to another call center.

so to you Convergys hopefuls. . . be careful during your interview. always say "yes, i'm willing to be assigned anywhere" or "it's okey, i won't mind, blah blah blah."

just a tip.

i still thank Convergys (and my friend who introduced me to it and brought me to the fair) for the opportunity of knowing them and for letting me experience all that in the screening process. it was fun, anyhow. :)

and another tip. . . don't go there if you've got "poor" pronunciation skills, much less, pathetic english skills or grammar. or it would only be a waste of time. :)


and when my clients here know about it, they said they're happy that i'm not accepted. oh, well. i'm just too valuable for them, i guess. :)

Dewi is based in the Makati office, I believe.
Mel (Melissa) is either in Makati or in Alabang (cause she moved to a different program and I don't know whether that account is based in Alabang or in Makati).

Spongebum, currently there are no openings for part time jobs...all the jobs are for full time. I'm done with the internship here in Ortigas and basically did a lot of phonescreening and walk in applicant interviews (who knows, I might have interviewed some of the people here in the thread as well)

hopefully after a month I'm still associated with CVG since that would be my wave's regularization date. Grabe ang hirap ng metrics ng account namin. hehehe. cant tell which one, baka mag back out kayo. oh well, ok lang, i'll just reactivate my application as CCT Trainer.

Those who are in CCT...if you were asked if you wanted to be a trainer...just say yes for crying out loud and dont do what I did by waiting it out til i hit the floor.

for those in CCT: Love it! Take advantage of it!
for PST: well, dont be scared like sh!T since the proficiency exams are pretty laidback if you ask me
for those in their transition: be hecka nice to the floorwalkers since they're sacrificing their stats and time to help you out

she asked me a week before grad i believe. screwed up memory here. my trainer asked me to give her a copy of my resume since my CCT grade was 97 i think. and the required grade for CCT trainers is at 95 I believe. i stupidly turned it down coz i wanted to be PST trainer. malapit na kaming maregularized and wala paring internal opening for PST trainer yet. if ever, if i dont get regularized (which i hope doesn't happen), that would be the only time i can reactivate my application as trainer. weird.

Pollywog: as long as you actually finished up to 2nd year college please feel free to apply. I strongly suggest to walk in since if you're early and you pass the initial interview, you will then be scheduled for exams and if the people for the final interviewers are free by late afternoon, you can have your final interview and job offer as well. That was what happened to me. Got there by 730 in the morning in ORtigas, interviewed by 9 i think. took the exams around noon, final interview around 4 and job offer by 6. I was home in Angeles City by 830 with a contract at hand.

so_close: no, i didn't have to perfect ALL my quizzes. pero almost all perfect. and all my quizzes were 85% and above. also, kailangan exagg talaga ang slang accent pagdating sa revalidas, para mataas.

Week 1 Day 2 of PST Training...

Wow...definitely harder than CCT... so far, hindi pa naman overloaded ang brain ko ng information...pero malapit na!

we were told by our trainer that, generally, the callers for wave 1 alabang were difficult customers.

and i have this co-trainee whose friend belongs to that batch. my co-trainee read out the text message her friend sent her about an irate caller she handled during her first day of transition. she said she got so tired that during their first break, she already wanted to go home.

right now, we're kinda rushing things coz according to our trainer, the first wave is having a bit of a hard time because during their training, they werent able to finish all the modules.

im thankful to wave 1, though, coz based on their transition week, useful info and tips could then be cascaded to the following batches after them (which makes it a little bit easier for us). we have a little over 2 weeks more before we hit transtion. (scary!! but im actually looking forward to seeing the site)

oblique tease: yeah! i heard that from our trainer too.. she even told us that one of her trainees from wave1 got only 5 calls in one day! kasi sobrang haba ng each call! imagine!
