Just as when some people thought that the winning ways of the San Beda Red Cubs has come to an end, the Red Cubs won the Fr. Martin's Cup last June 8 at its home turf. Despite the loss of its key players, the San Beda High School Basketball Program showed that it is still capable of winning big. *okay*

I was able to watch that game.

Altarboy: I have to admit it, LSGH is still no match this year against the Red Cubs especially with the youngest Menor, brother of Rolly and Romar, dominating the Cub's inside game. That kid is the next BIG thing and best thing about this kid is, he is just entering his 3rd year in highschol.

Redkfir: It seems they didn't lose anyone. The same teamwork was there. Mapagod naman kayo!hehhehehe! Pahingi naman!

Peace!

Wishful thinking! The top eight players of last years team decided to matriculate at 4 different universities only. I will give you 3 guesses and I am sure you will guess correctly 3 out of the 4 schools. Three of the players did not make varsity this year. :D

The vultures from 3 top UAAP schools are salivating at the prospect of signing this player. Alaga daw ng one of the assistant coaches for a particular school. Let the recruiting begin!

Sana naman makapaglaro yung mga Red Cubs na yan sa San BEda when they turned college. Mahiya naman sana sila at tumanaw sila ng utang na loob sa pinagsimulan nila....

The players show their gratitude by giving their utmost to the coach, Ato Badolato. Badolato is responsible in recruiting the players, finding benefactors for the players when needed (like Sec. Braganza), and trainning them.

The players find it hard to say no to the other schools when said school have things to offer while they get the cold shoulder from the administration/supporters of SBC. Look at the other students of SBC HS. If those students pass the entrance at UP, LaSalle or Ateneo, do you think they stay at SBC.

Oo, ang galing nga eh with a line-up decimated by graduation there were alot of us who thought that it will be hard to equal the achievement of last year's Red Cubs but we should never doubt Ato. Winning has been a passion for us kaya hindi kami mapapagod ! Hehehe !

PEACE !

GO SAN BEDA FIGHT !

San Beda does not give these Red Cubs the cold shoulder! In fact, we would love for them to become Red Lions and fight for our dear San Beda but we will never be dragged into a bidding war. The vultures from the 3 schools, as you put it, offers more than just scholarships and allowances (kung yun lang then we are more than willing to match) but when other "perks" are put on the table then we just let our Cubs decide for their future. I am a former Red Cub myself (though not a superstar :D) and I know first hand how these schools lure these Cubs, i tell you malulula ka!

You are correct, many students from SBC HS move on to other schools for college because many of our chosen courses cannot be found in San Beda which is just a college and not because San Beda is not good enough. Beside the fact that during our time, there are no girls in San Beda. In fact, there are alot of SBC HS students who graduated with honors (like valedictorians and salutorians) who chose to stay in San Beda. :) We are such an underrated school that many people failed to recognized many of our achievements just because their universe is confined to the Big 3 and maybe we do not make a big fuss out of it or blare it out in the media.

Once more, the Red Cubs of San Beda are ready and stalking the opposition for another fresh kill, another title that will be added into the records of its glorious tradition.
