Help Me.....help us with our debate

Hey people! Help me naman. We'll have a debate next year (sa January!) and our chosen topic was: Resolve that the start of classes in the Philippines be moved to September.

Do you have any idea on the pros and cons/ the practicality/ the necessity and all the other things debatable about our topic.

Please......our group needs your help!

Advantages of September- June schooling.
1. Provides school with the same timetable as western schools. It enables transfer students to adapt from one system to the next.
a. this is essential in the globalization and competitiveness of our education system. It forces schools to upgrade their infrastructures. And it gives schools standard that is comparable to the global standard. (they cant use the excuse we have a different timetable; thus, different set critreria)

2. It allows schools to skip the rainy season, which in some areas equates to no classes.
besides these two points, I don’t know any positive reasons why there is a need to switch. You will defend this view against the cost of switching from one system to the next, which will deplete further the already bankrupt educational treasury.

While the timetable MIGHT be contributing to the poor standards of our education system, it is by no means the primary factor. If changes need to be implemented, it should be implemented where it is most effective.
