HELP: how to deal with hackers

I just wanted to know how far can a hacker can get....


I have a friend na may nakaaway na hacker sa isang chat room and masyado cyang pinersonal nito, the hacker made a site na puro panira sa friend ko and ina-advertise nya sa chat room ( to the point that he ruined my friend's reputation)...... my friend wanted to take revenge sana kaya lang this so called hacker is threatening my friend na he has the capability to trace ISP and exact location daw and he can ruin my friend's computer pa daw.......is this true?.... i was just wondering kung totoo ba yun or tinatakot lang nya yung friend ko para lang tumahimik to....hope someone can enlighten my mind and give some infos and advice regarding this matter

yes it is possible ... pero i really doubt na kaya gawin yun nung naka-away ng friend mo dahil kung talagang kaya nya yun eh di sana ginawa nalang nya agad yun ... di na sya gumawa ng website or nagpa-kawala ng laway para lang manakot :rolleyes:

tell ur friend na mag-install sya ng firewall program ... eg eh ZoneAlarm Pro 3 ... then punta sya sa IRC (or kung saan man nya nakita yun) then murahin nya ... hamunin nyang i-hack PC nya :lol:

software based firewalls still leave some ports open for a hacker to get into, pero i dont think kaya yon ng hacker wannabe na nakaaway ng friend mo. that dork can't probably hack out of a paperbag even if he tried using scissors! :D

and btw, anybody can trace an isp but location? that takes true cracking talent that only a few possess (buti na lang)

ask your friend to change her password every now and then

use a random password that has alphanumeric in it. kung paranoid ka use case sensitive with 8 character.

newayz this might be out of topic but ive heard about ip spoof is this reliable ba? as in no one can trace you....is this a software ba na u have to install on your computer or what....pardon me for my ignorance im just curious ....everybody knows kasi na yung hacker (wannabe? :rolleyes: ) na yun eh naka ip spoof daw

yeah may software or irc script na pwede i-dl/install para magawa yun ... kung saan meron ... ndi ko sure ... although yung iba kong ka-chat may mga ganun ... di ko na sila tinatanong kung saan or pano nila nagagawa yun

bdway nangyari narin sa akin yung ganyan ... may naka-chat ako b4 and sabi nya kaya daw nya i-hang and/or burahin mga files ko ... and kaya din daw nya lagyan ng virus system ko ng ndi ko alam ... ang sabi ko lang eh "ang tagal"

ur frend's enemy is a loser, wala shang alam sa pc! anyone can make a website nowadays! since u said that he made a site to ruin ur frend, i assume geocities pasting the URL in irc. unless na *** siguro na www.fbi.gov yung dineface nya, bibilib ako. kung mga local sites *** ndi ako magtataka. and tracing by IP? come on. IP's change everytime u log on unless ur on broadband. and even if u know his IP, its not ur location that is revealed, its the ISP's location not yours. unless again na sinabi mo ito when he ask asl? :D

about ip spoofing in irc, its easy, all you need is access to a shell account, bnc, psy bnc or any anonymizer. ever noticed those adds with asdf@i.am.a.wanna.be.org? thats what they do. dont feel threatened with that wanna be.

all he can do is blah blah blah....im a wanna be. :D
