I have a problem with my hair. It’s kinda wavy but I do have bangs. Well, most people I know na mahaba yung bangs eh merong hati sa gitna ng head tapos sa gilid yung bagsak ng bangs, exposing the forehead. And besides, my hair doesn’t grow in such a way na expected na may hati sa gitna ng ulo ko. They grow at random directions, therefore walang lines na nacre-create sa scalp ko.

It irritates me (to the point of having pimples on my forehead) pag bumabagsak sa forehead ko yung bangs ko.

Bukod sa it makes me comfortable (mas presko pakiramdam ko), I don’t have to manage my hair pa.

But all the members of the family don’t like me wearing a headband. It’s gayish nga naman. I don’t like gel naman because it leaves flakes on my scalp. And I don’t like hot oil because….well….it’s oily (I hate oily stuff). So only a headband will do for me.
Minsan, sinubukan kong gumamit ng pure black na headband para less yung visibility, but my relatives keep on insisting that I look gay with a headband.

May headband ba for male?

afaik, there are no headbands for guys. guys simply have to make do with headbands made for girls. if you know you're not gay, why should what your relatives say affect you especially since you say that wearing a headband makes you more comfortable?

you can also try using the cloth, stretch headbands instead of the plastic ones. if you watch amazing race, one of guys there who has curly hair uses this kind of headband. it doesn't look gay on him. this headband's available at sm dept store at the women's hair accessories section.

So it looks like I have to settle with the cloth one.

I'm intrigued with this issue kasi I think I saw my male classmate once wearing a plastic headband na shaped like a pair of shades, and I thought that was cool.

There are sweatbands for guys. But they're placed on the forehead and not above it - ala girls. I have seen this on Tennis players.

But, why not just cut your hair short?

A longer hair gives me an edgy look. It gives balance to my overall head shape.

have to agree with what was posted earlier: why should your relatives worry if you're wearing a headband? it's just a headband!

headband is cool... even england's popular best soccer player (well, maybe one of the best), david beckham, sometimes wears headband. i don't think sexuality has something to do with this thing.

btw, have you tried wax for your hair? how about mud wax? this is not oily and it looks natural.

This isn't about confidence in sexuality but more on people's reaction.

Kung sabagay, here in UP where I study, even cross dressing guys don't really get attention. Although those cases are rare, considered sya as a norm.

Of course, ibang usapan na yung tipong pagpunta ko sa the likes of SM, naka headband pa rin ako.

Still, I think I will look for a headband tomorrow. :D

I'm growing my hair long too so I've been looking at guys with headbands. Yeah I think I'll get one soon. I also hate gel (or any artificial stuff on my body, actually.)

Like what some peeps said, try using the sweatbands. Double purpose pa, hindi mo na kailangan magpunas ng pawis sa noo when you sweat. :) Go to sports shops, dami dun.

I have to agree with your family. Headbands make you look like a gay 1980s fitness instructor. Have you tried a bandana?

Marc Jacobs usually puts the male models with headbands in the Louis Vuitton runway, but he never sold a single headband in the men's boutique. So, as far as I know, walang headband na panlalaki (besides, kung meron man, how exactly would they make it panlalaki?)

Anyways,if that's the only way you could control your hair, then by all means, pick a minimalist headband (usually in black), then go out. Bandannas are also a good suggestion.

Hate gel? Try using styling pastes instead, gives you control without drying your hair.
