Just curious how many of you guys when you travel back to the Philippines pack your stuff/pasalubongs in MALETA or BOX?

70 lbs is enough for a 30 inch expandable luggage. Last time I went home with my mom, I brought 2 boxes, hide ko mahila hila sa conveyor. Kung maleta na may gulong, magaan lang.

mas convenient pa rin ang maleta (i hardly ever see any without wheels and a handle used for pulling the thing around). also better in case they ask you to open it up at security checks and at the customs.

I prefer a maleta pero kapag no choice na at hindi na kasya saka ako nagkakahon.

tried bringing boxes to manila once..
will not recommend doing it again... too much hassle & obvious na pinoy ka.... heheheheh
duffle bags are good & some of them has wheels attached on it.
instead of kahon eh try packing them in a plastic container na nabibili kung saan saan ...malaki din ang capasidad noon just like the balikbayan boxes

Suitcases all the way. I usually have one huge suitcase, a mid-sized pull-on and a backpack.

box

I usually just fedex all my stuff to where I'm going before I leave, that way all I have is one small carry-on item, and I don't have to check anything in, I don't have to wait for my baggage at the baggage claim area, after I de-board my plane I go straight to the outside; no wasted time at the airport.

maleta
i suggest that you send your pasalubong by door to door service in boxes. then you only need to bring your own stuff in your suitcase.

box/box o maleta/maleta o box/maleta... depende sa pasalubong. pasalubong lahat sa check-in luggage. my own stuff (very few lang, mostly underwear) sa hand-carry. and when i get to my destination, doon ako magborrow nang clothes from my cousin. same size kasi kami.

Maleta.
I don't like boxes. Kung hindi magkasya ang pasalubong sa maleta, sorry na lang, walang pasalubong.

Maleta po. Not only is it more convenient, but it reduces that chance of your belongings getting ruined.

tanong lang po... Magkano naman po ang singil ng fedex say for one box or a luggage?
matami pong salamat

maleta na lang... kse may mum once went home to manila tapos may dala sya isang box... edi ba naka tape yun and nakatali pa para secure... pinabukas sa kanya ng security sa LAX dahil may nakitang mukhang suspicious... basta sobrang hassle yun kse di na mabalik ng mum ko yung pagkatali nya eh mej mabigat pa yung laman nung box *** nagaalangan sya na naka packaging tape lang... tapos my dad too, nabuksan na rin din ng balikbayan box sa LAX, pati yung isang friend namin... so yun, moral of the story: wag na mag balikbayan box :D

why not both? since you are allowed to have 2 (70 lbs) baggages...
The reasone we had to use a balikbayan box is because we bought 1 box (more or les 50 small bags) of TGIF's Potato skins...sincende kasya yung box dun sa maleta...
Tip:
If you'll wanna use a box. Try filling it up w/ NON-metallic objects. That's what we did...so it was never opened when we went back to the country

Naks!

During my Christmas trip home, I bring a suitcase for my clothes and stuff and a box for all the pasalubongs. That way when the box has served its purpose, I can dispose of it and travel with 1 suitcase back to the US.
