Hi to all body builders here.. been into the gym for the last 8 months now. Nag bubuhat din ako ng mdyo mabigat especially the past few weeks na nag free bar bench press ako. 15 reps 3 sets.. usually from 30-40 kilos lang.. unusually.. last week...

I felt a slight pain and pressure on my lower abdomen, dun sa right testicle ko (scrotum). The pain naman is not that much, slight lang and sometimes.. comes and goes. No enlargement of the said part naman. Kaya lang since then di na ko muna nagbuhat hanggang ngayon....

I feel kasi talagang mali ang method ko pagnag bebench.. di ako nakakahinga. My goal is to finish the 15reps/3 sets paminsan lang ako nag iihale exhale while lifting and i know this is wrong.

For now, pahinga talaga ako. to all bodybuilders and weightlifters here, naranasan or naramdaman nyo na ba ito???

Kung oo, what are the things you did? Is there something very serious about this case? Please advise me on what to do. Thanks

Check with your Doctor, dude. Just to play it safe.

yes, check with your doctor before anything else. if it's ok, revise your training sched. before lifting, focus on your abdominal exercises. pull-ups (whether level or inclined) strengthen your upper abs. while this is important for all lifting movements, you must also focus on your lower abs. strenthening these will protect you from herniation. do the following after the usual pull-ups:

1. single leg raising - lying on your back, lift your flexed right leg to 90 degrees and touch the toe with your left hand. do the reciprocal. make at least 10 reps.

2. lying with your knees up (feet closer to your buttocks), pull-up your upper body with hands behind your head. at the same time you're doing this, raise your knees so your elbows and knees will touch. 10 reps of this will be good.

3. double leg raise - this is the common one. with feet together, lift both flexed legs to 90 degrees. at least ten reps of this.

the pain you feel on you scrotum is caused by your wrong method of breathing while doing benchpress. the right way of breathing when performing benchpress is to inhale when you lower the bar closer to you then exhale when you push it away from you. studies show that when you hold your breath when lifting weights you tend to develop a sagging scrotum
"luslos" in tagalog.

btw, dont hold your breath, you need oxygen to lift those weights. and with the correct way of breathing lifting heavy weights will be more easier
