Where can you find the best Sisig? [Merged]

Hey people! My friends and I are on this search for the best sisig in the country. Maybe you guys can give us a hand in solving this little debate.
Personally, my number one choice has always been Trellis sisig. A close second is the P50 concoction of Aysees, in front of the Ultra.
If you've got some suggestions, please include where the restaurant is located, so that my friends and I can try it out. Everyone is welcome to join us, of course! =)

I heard that the three best places to get sisig in quezon city were: Trellis, Katips, and Dencio's. But for me, my Tita still makes the best sisig! She used to own a restaurant before and I find her timpla lip (sebo-stained, of course) smacking good!

I agree with Aragorn on the Aysees part. Sobrang sarap talaga ng Sisig nila doon. But I hear that the Sisig made along the carinderias lining the railroad tracks serve the best Sisig. I just wonder if it is good enough for me to venture that far.

this "sisig experience" was about 2 years ago at a place called the "Freedom Bar" in Quezon City (Anonas). It was one of the best (if not the best) I've tasted so far. They also got great shrimp gambas.

Not sure if it's still the same. Would like to know though if anyone dares to try it.

I used to be a student from a school in Pasig and I must say that Aysee's sisig was, or maybe still, the best sisig I've ever tasted but ever since I started to work in Makati, I find the sisig from Gerry's Grill okay. Thank God for Kapampangans!

The best sisig for me would be at Aycee's in front of ULTRA. You can also try the sisg at Gilligan's Island along Katipunan. They have this special ingredient that makes it crunchy...basta... high cholesterol galore yon! Hehehehehe...enjoy! :)

So most of you guys know about Aysees. Could someone update me kung masarap pa *** sisig nila because the last time I went there nung March this year... sobrang YUCK!!! (even my friends agreed) Super buong-buo yung taba para kang kumain ng tokawa't baboy. Ganoon kalaki. Masarap pa yung sisig sa cafeteria namin in school. Siguro masyado nakasing commercialize yung place kaya ganoon.

It was my third time to go there on that day. I know that super sarap nga doon pero since that incident no way akong babalik. I guess nadala!

Well anyway so far I eat sisig sa Crocodile. So if you guys wanna try, it won't cost you that much.

For me, the best sisig would be at Pilo Restaurant. Super sarap!! I have tasted the sisig of Trellis, it's also masarap but super sarap talaga sa Pilo :)

I got to agree with louisvuittonchiq...the sisig in PILO rocks! It's the best tasting sisig ever..it has those crunchy stuff in it which makes it really yummy!

The sisig in Trelis is also good...it use to be my favorite 'till I tasted the one in PILO

ChiQui, AMEN to Giligan's sisig. It's the best i've tasted because it is so crunchy. Love it with garlic rice.

Aragorn, Giligan's is a really good place to hang out/eat at... the food is great and affordable. They make a unique adobong kangkong, too.

Katips, Joseph and Jaemark's, and Dencio's -- all along Katipunan

There's this place in front of Ateneo called Ken Afford. They serve the best sisig in front of the Ateneo campus. They have two varieties--Sisig ala Domeng and Roque. The Domeng kind has an egg mixed with it, while the Roques kind is dry. Kinda crispy sisig, too.

I have to agree with jabronette. If u get the chance to go to tayabas,quezon. I highly recommend he sisig a palaisdaan.They also serve delightful inihaw na baboy as well as ***-*** ( ur choice if fried or inihaw..i prefer he fried variety). We even used to cut classes in he afternoon just to go there and eat! Trelli's, Gilligans and Aysee's are good as well...have to try Pilo's! :)

Try going to Angeles City, Pampanga.

There's this popular row of carinderias serving good 'street' sisig. Almost every resident of Pampanga is familiar with this street. They call it CROSSING. Everday at 5 in the afternoon, they fill the streets with tables and chairs. You can't miss it.

It's not just the taste I like, but the KING SIZE SERVING!!I Mura pa!

Kaboom! knows about this place.

I wanted to post a new topic "the worst sisig."

PIPELINE in Malate. The last time I went there, I almost swallowed a big cockroach. I suspected that the pest fell off the kitchen ceiling down to the hot plate.

I've heard people rave about Aysee's and Gilligan's Sisig...too bad I haven't tried it yet. Basta, one of these days! :)

So far, I love Dencio's sisig...crispy! And, Lokal's sisig...colorful (it has green and red bell peppers)!

Other pulutan to try is Krokodile's fried frog legs (tastes better than chicken! i swear!), spicy eel and calamares. :)

blue fever: Sigurado ka ba sa sinasabi mo? Nasty rumors abound regarding the sisig that they serve there. Personally, I never really liked how it looked so I never ordered it. It looks like it's all fat and greasy, not to mention the dubious kind of meat that they reportedly use in their sisig... ;)

The best sisig can still be found at Trellis. The quality never goes down. It's worth going across Manila from Alabang to eat, right Aragorn?

Oh and if you want to try the worst sisig, order the one in Ihaw-ihaw, Kalde-kaldero... in Baguio. I don't know if it's the same in other branches but their's is a sort of kinilaw sisig. So it's raw and not crispy. bleh...

Guys, kayabangan aside... our longtime cook (manang) makes the best sisig. All my highschool and college friends have voted it as a hands-down favorite. My classmates even sold the damn thing at school (every lunch time) for our business subject. I never knew people wanted to eat sisig EVERYDAY...

I've tried the sisig from so many places, Trellis, Dencio's, Gilligan's, etc. and nothing can compare to what we have at home. Talagang sanay na ako sa taste ng "homemade sisig".

For me it's Silver Spur's sizzling sisig. Although my relatives own the restaurant, I am not being biased or anything and I swear they serve the best sisig. The sisig of Aysee is really good (daw) pero haven't tried it.

Ayay! Had sisig a coupla Xs (once @ Gerry's Grill in QC) during my balikbayan last month - did not develop a fondness 4-it (thnk u v'ry much) - 2 greassssy & cholesterol laden.

But, my nephew's new wife (from a Visayan city where sisig was perhaps 1st concocted) could prob'ly eat it @ ev'ry meal - she ordered it ev'rytime we ate out ('nother time @ Gerry's Grill again - this time in Makati) - geeezzz really couldn't stomach - just da mere mention made me nauseous - much less look @ it or eat it - oh no - nevr 'gin!

There's this place near Lasalle called Kaibigan which serves greag sisig and a large serving for only 70 bucks. So far, that's the best I have tasted I can't wait to try Aysee

Pamatay (in a good way!) din ang fish sisig sa Galo's in Paranaque.

Dencio's sisig is rubbery and swimming in oil. I developed fat intolerance every single time I ate sisig there.

Trellis pa rin ang fave ko. Yung sa Pampanga, Jon-jon's da best. Yung sa Cavite Cafe Quintana (Trece Martirez City) -- malutong walang masyadong oil -- even my balik-bayan friend (nawala ang pagka-demure ng matikman) liked it.

annemac: I tried that one; You're right, it's pretty good! Especially when you add a lot of freshly grated black pepper and an egg.

Clarification on the sisig ingredients, though: I think it's either pig ear or cheek.

Sisig is not Pork Innards!
Sisig is chopped up ears, nose and facial skin of the pig. I helped my uncle prepare it that's why I know.

You either fry the meat or grill it, mixed it with lots of garlic, ginger and onion, then add either brain or egg. Tapos i-sizzling mo na!

For me it's got to be Gilligan's Island in Katipunan, yum yum! :)

but other's say the best is in Pasig, this carinderia called Aycees.

Sobrang sarap daw. I've never eaten there but all my friends say it's even better than Dencio's or Trelli's.

Sino ba may alam sa 'Sit In' sa may Planet Gokongwei? Doon may pinakamasarap na sisig sa akin. Super sizzling matalsik-talsik pa yung sauce sa'yo. Super special, may mayonaisse pa. Super mura mga P70 lang. Super assorted, as in halo-halo yung mga kinds ng laman. Di tulad sa iba iisa lang kind na karne.

pero you guys should try chicken bacolod's beef sisig. i dont know how it got into their menu. pero it's really good. i don't know which outlets sell pero the one in katipunan does. it's good kasi it's beef, so mas distinct tlaga yung taste, tapos the atay, mayrong atay, crispy sya. di sya yung parang kung nguyain eh slimy na ewan. basta crispy sya. kaya it's really good.

Buddy's is located at Kalayaan Avenue, near Reposo Makati and also one in Kakarong Street. As far as I know, they only have two stores here in Manila..(correct me if i'm wrong) They're into Lukban specialties....basta super sarap dun at mura lang....try also their Pancit Lukban..hmm, yummy yummy :p

Trellis is in Kalayaan Avenue, Q.C.--it's one of the streets branching from Quezon Memorial Circle, right before Commonwealth Avenue. Once you're there, watch out for a restaurant on the corner streets to your right.

The best sisig I ever tasted was way over in Tagaytay. I can't even remember the name of the place, I think it starts with an L. And it was along the outskirts already.

there's a fast food place in makati-- Buddy's. It's in Kakarong Street (in the JP Rizal area). I think they have the best sisig in Metro Manila. There's a branch in Kalayaan avenue, but somehow the sisig in the Kakarong St. branch is much better. and it's only about 50 bucks.

Sa Tammy's Beach Resort sa may Iba, Zambales. Masarap ang sisig nila don. Hindi kagaya ng iba kong natikman na malabsak na at parang corned beef. Have to agree with you there. I'm a bit disappointed at Aysee. It was so much better when we first tried it arnd 5-6 yrs ago. About 10% onions lang, big servings pa! Sobrang sulit for P30 :) Still taste good tho.
