CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SAN SEBASTIAN COLLEGE RECOLETOS DE CAVITE BAYCATS!!!!!! I think you guys should start performing on the NCAA halftimes!!! OR maybe work with the De Manila Pep and Jammers with the routines and beats. Galing din lang naman sa Cavite ang mga trumpets na ginamit sa Finals, might as well work with the Recto-based Pep para masaya!!!!

also congratulations to the other teams!!! Benilde edged us out this time!!!

ANIMO BENILDE

With regards to kopyahan blues, just try to remember the movie BRING IT ON, just bring it. :teehee:

COOL??? I think otherwise. Well, I just hope the ADU squad enjoyed doing the skydiving moves of UST. Donel ha, grabe ka na!

Konting respeto naman sana Donel. Di ka na nga makalapit sa UST sa kahihiyan after you guys performed in the UAAP, inulit niyo pa. Alam mo how hard it is to be in Salinggawi...kung pano gumawa ng isang routine...dati ka naming kasama, Sana di ka na nagpunta sa PSC to support Salinggawi, nandon ka pala para kopyahin ang routine at i-cascade sa ADU. Alam ko na gusto mo pagandahin ang bago mong squad, but not to the expense naman sana ng Salinggawi. Grabe ka Donel.

Buti na lang nauna Salinggawi mag perform baka akalain sila pa nang gaya. anyway kahit naman mauna Adamson, people wont believe since when Adamson was performing UP and UST crowd kept on reacting... its a recycled routine of UP, with highlights of UST's current routine also presented in that competition.

now, is that cool? pinaghirapan ng iba e...

To the CSB pep, congrats. Ive heard so many things abt ur squad.. all good ones at that :) True Winner.

i was there to watch, and honestly, ADU ang deserving na manalo don ...

re benilde... hmmm, obviously maraming pumunta para manood, pero may pagka rowdy ang inyong crowd ... nasa likod ko ang ilang benildeans, and it's just cheering, pero ang mag-wish na sana may matumba and stuffs like dat sa kapwa kasali competition, parang overboard ...

also, may mga "mali" din ang pep nyo, dont be so narrow minded ... it's ok to cheer for your school, you should be, pero sana isipin nyo na there are so many pep squads na magagaling ...

and i think it's bene ur talking about ....

and i think magkaiba ang pagpeperform nila...

Yeah magkaiba talaga ang cheers ng UAAP at NCAA... mas exposed ang mga taga-uaap schools sa mga competitions compared to those who are in the NCAA... but see for yourselves... kasi madaming magagaling din na pep sa NCAA.... hindi nga lang masyadong naeexpose kasi tinitipid ng NCAA management group.... tsk tsk tsk

But how could you say that? They are the St. Benedictine Red Ravens. The patron saint of your school is their namesake! Why do you discriminate your own brethren when they call themselves bene people, not bedans. Could you please share with us your bad experiences with Bene people that lead you to hate them? :shakehead:

magkaiba talaga ang cheering ng uaap and ncaa...
lalo na sa uaap... UP,ADU... nagiging dancing na di na cheering... kaya lang nagmumukang cheer dahil meron parin liftings and tosses... kaya not all the time nanalo ang mga uaap... like for example last year in the rx competition... pure dancing pinakita ng ADU kaya sila tinalo ng mga h.s ng SMC... UST talaga ang da best sa uaap... hindi ako nabobore sa performance nila kase lufet talaga nila! combination of cheering and dancing ang ginawa nila kaya maganda tingnan! creative pa sa paggawa ng mga moves like the skydiving moves...

AltarBoy^_^
Oct 4, 2002, 05:53 AM
Adamson edged Benilde in terms of Stunts but I don't believe that we were edged in terms of choreography and cheers as the scores have revealed that it was close. I also agree that UST and UP have the edge in these areas in the UAAP for they pioneered cheerdancing talaga. Can someone confirm this?

Now, if the Green Peppers would use a skydiving stunt in their routine then we might be seeing a semi-BRING IT ON type of performance diba?! I still think they're one of the best if not the number 1. ;) :D

There are a lot of differences between these two schools. Sobrang dami talaga. They shouldn't call themselves bedans kasi they don't exhibit the values eh. If you only knew....

I know that there are a lot differences between the two schools. But they represent you in the NCAA South diba? Like what? What do Bene people have that pulls Bedans down? I think both schools excel in their own ways but I can't seem to understand your loathe for them.

Actually I don't agree with Baloney's reason. But preparation is essential to every squad but the semestral thingie is irrelevant talaga. Matagal kasi ang recruitment and training sa green peppers and they prepare long and hard for every competition they choose to join. And routines would have to be changed, innovated, stunts would be tried and tested for every performer to achieve and canned songs are essential. Thing is, cheerleading is our forte, not cheerdancing although our female cheerleaders can excel in such routines. And I know how far the other squads have achieved but the difference lies in what style is being used.

RX Cheering competition is next month pa yata. May magpo-post naman dito kung kailan eh! ;)

question lang: do u have any difference with the dlsu pep squad? the reason din kasi why they dont win in any UAAP cheering, is because they embrace the tradition daw ... pero kasi pag UAAP, it's cheerdancing and not cheerleading ... actually, i find them cute, especially their uniform ...

also, what's with bene, at parang u dont like the school? is it like a rivalry or something?

Yes they have a difference, choreography. Even the traditionals of each girls and boys' routine are varied kahit iisa lang ang sigaw. Cheerdancing is SDT and UPs cup of tea whereas traditional is similar to american style cheerleading. Understandable naman na hindi mananalo ang Lasalle at Benilde kung cheerdancing competition eh, because the boys do not have background in jazz dance and they plan not to follow SDT and UP's footsteps. Tradition nga eh. Boys do masculine cheers, lifters and cheerleading while girls do the cheerdancing, stunts and toss. Wala pang plano maging Backstreet boys ng Lasalle, Benilde or Ateneo but they compensate it with strength in lifting the girls, doing the basket toss and pyramids. :D

e d ba sa america cheerleading sumasayaw naman talaga ang boys??? and one more thing, hindi naman porket sumayaw ang boys e you are following their footsteps e. and atenean BOYS e sumayaw na rin sa wakas in this year's UAAP! kaya ang La Salle system ay napagiiwanan na. why don't you try naman for a change to let the boys dance and express themselves.in this, you'll improve you're group's performance d ba?? suggestion lang po. ;)

Not all the time. You're generalizing. Kaya nanalo ang Benilde nuon sa RX Cheering Competitions is because they performed flawless pyramids in the past and the difference lies in the execution. :D

Not exactly. May iba sumasayaw at meron iba all-girls lang talaga. Kinda reminds you of Bring It On diba? :teehee:

And I do think the masculine cheers are here to stay for good if we're talking about Lasalle, Benilde, and Ateneo. And also take note that the Blue Babble Battalion are separated from the girls and their lifters but they perform in unison when it comes to the traditional cheers. And I don't think Bedans would trade their Indian Yell for a Cheerdance type of performance. Maybe for experimental purposes that we can see if the boys have potential in dancing but cheerleading is what sets us apart from the rest who have followed UP and UST's footsteps. Mapua is already there, JRU dances remind you of an 80's choreography, Letran's using canned music instead of their traditional Arriba Letran from time to time, and PCU's employing a semi-jazz dance/hip-hop/RnB routine. If Benilde and Lasalle wanted to perform jazz dance, they could've sent their Dance Groups instead. ;)

i agree with you na magkaiba talaga ang cheers ng UAAP & NCAA.
i hope na magkaroon na ngayong year nato.

:) comments lang po!!!
peace!

hello people!:*)
I would just like to say that Saint Benedict College is great school. A lot of my friends study there. With regards to their cheer dancers, well, i was not able to quote it but somewhere along this forum someone said that their cheers are parang "zobel". I totally agree. My friend was the one of the few people who choreographed and helped out with the routines of batch 99 in zobel. And it is already a fact ( and a lot of people know it) that the former head cheer dancer of bene has been copying the routines of zobel, and claiming that she choreographed for zobel and the students pay her.
This head cheerdancer has graduated already, but im sure she will be there again next time, with a video cam ready to shoot and copy!

PEACE EVERYONE:*)
