There was a TV segment I watched and it conducted scientific tests on different branded runners. They featured all the big guns (Nike et al.) and compared its features, comfort, durability and value for money. They found that Asics Gel (almost all models), Mizuno(almost all models) are far superior than Adidas, Nike and Reebok.

There is no such thing as a best running shoe!!!

You can probably find the best running shoe for you! It should fit your running style. Are you a heavy runner? Do you pronate or supinate? Are you biomechanically efficient? How often do you run? What mileage do you intend do maintain? Will you use the shoe for training, racing or both?

My current favourites are Asics and New Balance. Most of the major brands are great, you just have to find the shoes that fit you.

Asics, Saucony, Mizuno, New Balance, Addidas, Nike, Reebok, Avia (buhay pa ba ito?)

I've tried a lot of brands, Nike, Reebok, Adidas, Puma, Saucony just to name a few. I recently purchased Mizuno Wave Phoenix and I was blown away by the quality of the shoes. They're EXTREMELY lightweight, unbelievably comfortable and durable! They were selling for P3,000 but got it for P2,500...Cheap na quality pa!

ayy, i hate shopping imported stuff in Pinas, retailers are so profit HUNGRY! At least in other places, the slash their merchandise to as much as 70% off!
I really recommend Mizuno shoes, they're used by many professional athletes. I couldn't believe how lightweight and comfy the shoes are! A lot more comfy than DMX's and SHoxx guaranteed!

my Nike Shox XT works good for me.

masarap sa heels, walang pressure kapag lumalapag na sa lupa every stride.

I so agree with you. It's still Asics Gel.

Cool lang kasi image ng Nike kaya siya mabenta - I just bought nga another one the other day:)

But if it's performance I am after - I go for Asics Gel.

Hindi lang kasi maporma ang dating ng asics talaga e.

I just hope they update their designs.

By the way, do you what store carries the widest selection of Asics?

I was originally a Nike devotee because of the additional arch inserts (having very high arches I found others made my feet hurt). But I've since taken to using orthotic inserts and have been converted to the new Adidas Clima-Cool range...fantastic footwear for running - both indoors and out.

I used Asics Tiger before and I loved it. I kept wearing it until got worn out. When I looked for the same model, it's nowhere to be found. Now I have to make do with my Nike.

it all boils down to what you're after. style, performance, comfortability and so forth.

personally, I'd like saucony or asics for running shoes since they're really good. Nike is a bit overrated when it comes to running shoes

I go for the Nike Air Max because it provides support and cushioning to your whole foot with special attention to the problem spots. I haven't heard of anyone whose feet hurt after trying these. :)
