View Full Version : Hair Horror Stories

Since hair relaxing, straightening, and rebonding are so in this days. I decided to give it try.
So I had my hair relaxed in a salon in Greenbelt. It being known to give superior service. And the Creative Director of that salon, who cuts my hair, also reccomended it to me.
I even had it hot oiled after, per their reccomendation. Just to do everything right.
After a week, in a particular section of my head, the hairs started breaking off. Now, I have this bald spot on the right top portion of my head which I can't do anything about. And the same thing is beginning on the left side.
I went back to the salon today, because the spot is getting larger everyday. I wanted to see what they can do about it.
None of the managers/owners were there, or at least, none of them faced me.
They offered me a hair strengthening treatment, "for free" na raw.
If I have my hair cut - my only option is to get a skin head. So much for growing my hair for three months. They told me, for a short do, I have to wait for 2 months more, for the bald spot to fill in.
Aside from the treatment, they trimmed the tips of my hair.
They told me that the chemicals could have not been blended well and stayed too long in that particular area of my head.
After the treatment and the trim, they told me to keep them posted by the next two days if the breakage continues.
I wasn't visually upset at any time, because I know, being that way will only add to my discontent and even panic them - possibly making them do more booboos.
But as I was about to walk out the door, even saying thank you, the receptionist told me that I had to pay for the trim at P500. I was willing too. But I told her that had I known that I will be charged for it, I would have had more hair cut-off. Total naman sira na buhok ko.
She then told me di bale na lang. It was like she wasn't sure on what she was doing.
They treated the whole incident almost well enough, except for charging me for the trim which I think was stupid. Coz it looked like if they can still earn from me - they will.
This only proves that "hair horror stories" can happen even in the most expensive and known salons.
Any of you there been through the same ordeal? Or would you know of similar incidents in so called high end salons. Please post em.
Thanks.

Dapat pag ganyan you demanded to see the manager on that very day and threatened to sue the hell out of them noh. That was the worst haircut of my life.

naku the thing with my friend.
you know bout the other pexer here, who posted bout japanese haircut?
migowd, my friend visited his salon(kung salon ngayon)in makati. all the while she tot that it was really a salon, but to her surprised, it was a clothes shops. nevertheless she still tried it out.
sabi kasi dun sa post nya, e relaxing daw. 3 x na imassage yung hair mo, mare-relax ka ba? tapos right there and there sa loob ng shop, binigyan sya ng chair at dun ginupitan! tapos after the cut, she was thinking that the guy will give her s shampoo or some sort, pero wala. di man lang sya tinulungna to brush the hair off her shirt and pants...
wen my friend looked into the mirror, lalo syang natakot. instead of looking like a japanese, nag mukhang syang mongoloid. grabe, and to think that these guy is actually charging 700 just for a stupid relaxign massage kuno, and a japanese haircut that will end up looking like an idiot!
ayun my friend went home with hair all over and looking like a stupid *******....heheheh
wawa naman sya. the next day, she immediately went back to her salon and have her hair fixed.
sayang yung 700 .. :(

That's the problem with some stylists, they tend to please themselves rather than please the customer.
Some stylist, the good ones, even ask a few questions about the lifestyle of the client before cutting, just to get it right.

nagpagupit ako sa salon sa greenbelt at creative stylist pa ko nagpabook...panget ng haircut ko, he layered it, the shortest layer is eye level then longest is shoulder....usually i have my layers from a little above my chin to the shoulders eh...but since marami nagsasabing magaling nga sya, i just let him cut my hair to his style... di na ko uulit :(

Haha really?! That girl is really something, she should be fired from salon de manila for that snooty attitude of hers, masisira lang ang name and reputation ng salon cause of her…After the hair cut she did to me, I was complaining that it didn’t look a bit like the one in the picture, but she’s just looking—blank stare—and she left when it’s obvious that I’m not contented with the cut she did, but kahit pa I’m complaining I don’t intend to let her cut my hair again—eh tipong me visual na nga di pa nya na-gets what more kung words lang?
What I did, is I made it a point na iparinig sa mga kasamahan nya when I asked the receptionist/cashier that “Is she really a senior haircutter? Mukhang trainee eh, can I get her full name?” it would appear as though I’m gonna report her to the top management for what she did… I took note of her name but I haven’t done any action yet.

But don't just go to any David's Salon, ha. David's Megamall (the one near the cinemas) is good kaya lang malayo sa atin.
Teka, why am I suggesting this to you, e alam ko namang hindi mo type sa mga lower end salons :D

Might as well name them! so as for people to avoid these places--or rather haircutters...sabagay di naman kasalanan nung salon mismo, but it's their reputation at stake.

Magkano ba chinacharge nya ?

Bea19: Actually, a suki bading I went to the last time I had my hair cut....had HIS hair cut by Pin Antonio...and I swear huh ang ganda ng hair nya!....I was the one who asked him kung sino gumupit ng hair nya dahil nagandahan ako sa style and color...forgot to ask how much though, eh kase he said he knew her personally because they were classmates before at the academy.

Muka ngang babalik na ako sa simpleng hair style at stylist after this experiece.
I try the so called "best" stylist in the country.
But there are always other "best" salons:) T.Y.

There nothing wrong in asking for the rate of a spefic stylist.
Better to ask than be sorry.
Before going into any salon, I call and ask for their rates. Kesa mabigla ako after.
And if I am interested in a particular stylist, I go directly to tha point by asking "kapag si ______ magkano?

Back in high school when I didn't know any better I cut my hair at Bruno's, and they murdered my hair. It was shaved to my scalp on the sides and back and the top was short and spikey. I looked like Bert from Sesame Street. It was horrible. I never went back.
mac326 - I have to agree, FIX is horrible. I cut my hair there a couple months ago and it was bad. The back was too short. It's like the cutters there, or at least the girl that cut my hair, never listens to the customer. Sigh. Never again.

Dati kse I was asking them to do a demo for an event tapos bglang nag back out yung mktg nila na di pa daw nila kaya kse new pa lang daw sila. They need victims para pag practisan!heheh

to cornonthecob:
i don't think it'd be innapropriate to name the salon which gave you your horrible 'do. you'd be doing all of us a favor and saving us from similar horror experiences. we consumers have a right to know which establishments and hairdressers to avoid so please start naming names. thanks.

i'm thinking about getting my hair rebonded but i'm really scared tht something bad might happen, has anyone had any bad experiences with rebonding? Is it better than straightening? Coz what i don't like about straightening is that your hair doesn't look natural afterwards, it's really like some ppl describe it, it looks like you have a broom on top of ur head! Does rebonding result in a more natural look?

I got it done and I liked it, but now that it's grown out a bit, it looks better cos it looks more natural. :)

cornonthecob The people have the right to know! Let justice be served! :D
Seriously, I agree that you can say the name of that salon you went to. Totoo naman yung nangyari sa yo, e. I saw it, and I must say it's scary.
You're not asking people not to go this salon anyway. You're just sharing to them your "horror story". So if they got scared with your story, it's up to them to make their decision. You're not responsible for anything. Wala kang sinisiraan. Let these people decide. Let them make their own judgment.
For those who want to know, take it easy on cornonthecob. Bata pa yan. ;) Besides, you're not supposed to make any decision based on somebody else's experience. Just be careful...

I guess I owe this to everyone who visited my thread:)
Well, the incident happened in Propaganda in Greenbelt 1.
Though this happened, I am still considering going back there. Why? - because I really like my stylist there. He's really good. Plus, I don't think he knows what exactly happened.

Alam mo you should let the sylist lnow kung may nangyaring kapaplpakan kse name nila at ng salon ang masisira.
