i've been to the oft-mentioned schools here and i can say the school with the toughest security force (and the smallest incidence of hooliganism/rallies) is FEU-morayta. the security force there is a virtual private army, especially when it was run by major moran who's dead now. dlsu-main would come in second, followed by the old IS (in makati avenue).

the most open universities are UP-diliman, PLM, and PUP. among the private schools, it would be UST, adamson, ateneo and lyceum.

most secured school right?

well okay, Xavier school in San Juan

i remember during that supposed "sickness" that was going around the news, schools like poveda, la salle greenhills ateneo etc. had news crews in filming the students etc.

but when they tried to enter xavier they couldnt becuz our director then called a SWAT team to cover the whole school perimeter stopping anyone wihtout proper authorization to enter

my guess is becuz of the many children there coming from affluent chinese families, (even eraps child from laarni) security is way tyt. there is even a small police station right next to the school which popped up right in the middle of the kidnapping thingy.

jingoy i think studied there, or wasit jv?

Try going inside CEU at Manila without an ID. I bet you would not be able to go through the guards. in UST the guards are decorations or like a Meralco post but not in CEU. the guards there are more superior and no students dare kick their *** because for sure they will be called by the dean.

UST is an open university kasi. So anybody can go inside the campus but once you attempt to enter the buildings, you will be required to surrender an identification card.

:D I know. i study there but i can still pass the guards. they don't bother most of the time. when you enter the gates they don't check your bag. anyone can put a bomb inside.

Kasi nga, it's an open university because of it has a hospital and a church within its campus. Now, if you check the bag of every person entering the campus, that would be nuts right. Lalo na't ilan ang gate ng USTe. Pero I agree with you. Pag papasok na sa mga buildings, they don't check pa rin.

Yah you are right!!! but you know what they have a new ID now. its worth P300. the new comers are using that ID. i don't know but the guards there are "timid" he he he. But i can still say that UST is safe. so those planning to enroll next semester or next year don't be afraid. UST is good. but i suggest you buy also boots and maybe you should learn how to swim because the place is always flooded when rain pours heavily in Manila. :D

hmmm... okay i get your point... pero yan lang ba ang hawak ng CEU na superior ang guard nila at pag wala kang I.D. di ka papapasukin??? I believe most of the schools act that way, so giving CEU as an example of a secured school doesn't count kasi majority of the schools require an ID first before you can enter the question is how tight the security is... porke ba may ID ka eh dapat ka ng papasuking without a valid reason??? think my dear...

still xavier for me! hehe

you need an id pass which is only valid for the person whos face appears on the picture of the id, which has to be verified by a parent of a student currently studying in the school pa, so unless u have a kid in the school, there is no other way, besides leavin an id, of goin inside without ne business.

unless u look like a rich chinese tycoon hahahaha

It's hard also to GET OUT, if you cannot produce a fetching card. Even if you are bringing out your own child. The guards will bring you to an office, dig out their files, verify your picture, then make phone calls pa.

ICA made gaya gaya na rin, Thank god wala na ako sa school na yan. Now may "exit pass" and alumnae ako ha! kilala na ako ng guard pati ata mga insekto ng campus they still asked for my ID and a confirmation from my teachers when I went back to get my transcripts.
The administration always use the reason of "kidnapping is rampant" when they don't allow field trips and joining competitions like cheerdance etc.

Anecdote lang, may classmate ako na-kidnap last year. She got pissed not because her parents had to pay a hefty ransom but the reason she had to eat chicken joy 3 times a day for four days!

Don't know if this means anything, but I've never had anything stolen from me in La Salle. I've left my stuff at the gosh-darndest places and it's always there when I return. Been that way for my whole four years. In contrast, I've learned not to leave your things lying around in UP and Ateneo.

I have to agree. I once left my nokia 8890 inside the restrrom along southgate..I realized that I don't have my phone after 20-30 mintes coz we ate lunch at Aristo.. When I went back to the restroom to check, my phone's still there. It's seems as if it's just waiting for me to pick it up.
