Isn't the London Business School the business education arm of the University of London? It was rated as the best b-school in the UK by the last Businessweek and Financial Times survey.

ang l.b.s. parang hindi siya member ng federal university of london.

if im correct eto lang yung mga 6 na pinakamalalaking colleges

birkbeck
l.s.e.
kings
university college
royal halloway
queen mary

pag nagraduate ka in any of these, you get the same university of london degree. ang mga examinations meron talagang university of london checker sa lahat ng subjects para pareho pareho ang standards ng mga colleges. and all of them are doing good in their own right. most likely if they would like combine all their resources into a non-federal university system like oxford or cambridge, baka mas malaki pa ang ito sa oxbridge.

di tulad sa us. pag hahanapin mo ang best na b-school, you just have to check out businessweek.com best mba's.

LBS is a part of the University of London according to their website - LBS (http://www.london.edu/study_info/School_Advantage/school_advantage.html)

I found out about it 2 years ago when I was researching for b-schools to apply to.

Yes, you are correct. However, the London Business School (LBS) was excluded in this survey for the sole reason that the said business school does NOT offer undergraduate programmes in any field of study. Maybe it should also surprise you why Cranfield University isn't in the ranking.

Cheers!

OK. The post did not say whether or not the rankings were for the undergrad or grad level only. Anyway, there are existing rankings such as Businessweek, Financial Times, and USNews that focus only on the graduate business education.

Imperial is bigger than these colleges. Imperial College gobbled up two new schools a few months back and also took over several teaching hospitals to expand its 'Medicine' counterpart.

Yes, there are several ratings, indeed. However, there is one single rating that is considered by most Colleges - which I forget the name right now. Anyway, in that Oxford is number one and Imperial unseated Cambridge as number two - at least that was in 2001.

Yikes! I did not know that LBS is part of the University of London System. All the while, it has never been mentioned that it was. Anyway, some of the above-mentioned colleges belong on a bigger one -- example, ICSTM includes those in Wye and all the ICSTM Teaching Hospital (including the Royal Postgraduate School of Medicine - Hammersmith Hospital).

Guys and St. Thomas belongs to King's College London.
