curious lang talaga ako kasi i wanna take up interdisciplinary studies/ socsci sa ateneo, kaso when i told my cousin about it, sabi nya bulok daw yun. totoo ba?

IS was invented by Fr Galdon when I was still in college. It so happens that Dyords Javier was still enrolled and had been shifting from one course to another, making slow progress completing the requirements of whatever program he was enrolled in at the time. After IS was invented, he finally graduated after 8 years in college.

That might be how the bulok reputation originated, but that wasn't the intention.

IS is supposed to give you maximum flexibility in designing your academic program, especially if no other program at the college appeals to you. How can that be bulok?

IS isn't bulok. It allows you to be as creative as you can be. IS has been around for a long time. Maybe not as long as the other courses, pero believe me matagal na ito. Its reputation is only bulok because people make fun of it.

KuyaDanny is right. How can a course that wants to maximize your potential be bulok?

Ang hindi lang ok is that a lot of students look down on this course, saying it's tambakan ng mga nakick-out from other courses, or a stepping stone of incoming froshies para makashift into other courses in 2nd year. I think it's a nice course though, kaya lang nga medyo sabog pag hindi maganda ang pagpili mo.
