The Ateneo School of Government in Rockwell offers a graduate program in public management. Check out their website: Ateneo School of Government (http://www.gsb.ateneo.edu/sog/)
The website also has a description of the courses and requirements.

How about a Doctoral Degree in Public Policy or in Law? (aside of the Doctor of Civil Law and PhD in Public Admin of UST or the Master of Laws and Doctor of Public Admin of UP)

The Ateneo School of Governement is part of the Professional Schools. As such, the curriculum is designed for professional training (MPM) instead of the academic/research orientation of a Phd program. They don't have Phd programs in government over there.
As an alternative, you can study your doctoral in public policy/admin at the National University of Singapore where they have a doctoral program and offer several scholarships (NUS, ASEAN, APEC, ADB) that Filipinos and other ASEAN nationals can qualify for.

Hey thanks again for those useful information. You really know a lot of things. But i don't intend to go outside the country just to have the degree but yes its a prestige to be able to have a PhD from a foreign school.
MPM of Ateneo is a profesional degree since it does na have any bearing of a thesis.
But my prof. got his PhD in Public Policies and Business Management here in the Philippines and i just don't know were he took it....
UST is the only school that has offers JCD (Doctor of Civil Law) while the Master of Laws (LLM) both UP and UST offers it.

Essentially, Public Policy is a multi-disciplinary study of the implementation and development of policy alternatives. It is aimed at training individuals to understand and deal with up-to-date problems related to issues such as urbanization, health, etc.
Public Administration, on the other hand, focuses on enhabcing an individuals skills for a bigger role in public sector leadership.
That being said, many universities like Columbia have actually combined their public policy and public administration programs since many topics tend to overlap while other universities like Harvard have kept the two programs separate.
Go to this website: Harvard - JFK (http://www.ksg.harvard.edu/programs/) and check out in more detail the differences between the two fields.

Thanks again! You are very well learned!
Parang mas magandang mag-aral ng Public Policy. What school kaya dito sa Philippines ang offer ng graduate studies sa Public Policy?

the nearest i could think of to public policy is development economics at the up.

Development Econ in UP? hmmm....ya thanks medyo malapit nga pero more on econ talaga yon. pero talagang may mga public policy subjects din dun (kasi sa Beda may BS Economics and Public Policy eh kaya siguro malapit yon) pero mas maganda kung talagang concentration yung Public Policy. Saan pa kaya?

BUMP. revive ko lang tong thread na to. is anyone here an alumnus of or is currently enrolled in the ateneo school of government? i would just like to ask what is their cumulative gpa requirement. i browsed through their site and ang nakalagay lang is dapat may good academic record and as to a specific grade, wala (??). i was the kind of student kasi napa-easy easy lang specially with subjects that i didn't really like. pero for those naman that did catch my very elusive attention, i easily got perfect marks. so yah, i'm the bum in the class who miraculously survived college without failing a single subject and, at the same time, aced some of the hardest ones. well, there's the more lenient law school naman pero mas appealing talaga sakin kasi ang MA in public ad eh. hope someone helps :D
