The Webster Dictionary describes a Socialite as one who is socially prominent...Are you one? If you find yourself not being one, who cares, start by posting something about your lifestyle.
-What is your social lifestyle like?
-Your nightlife
-The many unique characters you've met (online and offline)
-The clubs, lounges, bars, cafes you love and love to hate
-The many places you've been to...

Socially I like to meet new people anywhere, weather its online or offline...My nightlife is hanging out with my friends, lately however it has been nights full of people throwing up because they had too much to drink...:D
As for interesting people I've met...the most famous one has been Ceasar Montano, nice guy who seems more shy then I thought he would be, also I got a glimpse of his wife (forgot her name)...
And the places ,I've been Germany, France, Toronto....but what I'd really want to see is Japan, has anyone been there?
Well...I had to start, how about you?:walkman2:

Same here I like meeting people, though my definition of a night life is just hanging out in a cafe and just have an interesting conversations with my friends, or make tambay sa houses nila. I hate going to clubs, discos, etc.
And yeah i've been to Japan, twice actually, but that was waaay back when I was 6 and 7 years old. But i do recall some things that happened to me there. I was able to have friends/ playmates sa apartment namin when I was there. I talk to them in English and they talk to me in Japanese, though there was a language barrier we clicked, they even showed me how to play baseball. Sigh... the joys of childhood, it's easier to meet friends back then- even with barriers such as cultural differences. And I even remember the name of one of them- mga binata na rin sila ngayon I guess. hehehe

Hi, I am here in Japan. We are leaving for Singapore and Malaysia before settling in Seattle. Japan is very clean place, japanese are ver well mannered. Cost of living is so high. If you are a tourist and you are not prepared for expenses forget this place. An ordinary hotel will cost you $300/N per person. To rent an apartment in Tokyo the least you can get is $5,000/month.
Taxi cost $6.50 per 1km.
There are lots of interesting places here, I am sure you will love it. Its ironic because last time I visited PI for 4 days I came back here in Japan with lots of skin desease. Man, dust and pollution makes me sick.

Well, we just love travelling. I see to it that I can travel twice a year at least. Well, I have been in Europe, and I think most of the places in Asia. From HK, Thailand, Hongkong,Taiwan,China,Macao,Australia, NZ,Korea, and we are heading to Singapore next month.
Well, if you are in onother country for me its better because you can adopt the culture. So far, I admire most are Japanese. They are ver friendly people. Koreans are the rudest.
Try to travel you will love it. My sisters are not into travelling but, after the trip in Hongkong they travel more than I do now. Its a good experience thou.

Koreans are the rudest! At least from what I hear and have experienced...I don't know why. Where I live the Koreans are rude to other asians.
Yes for me, I like combining the current culture im living in and with the one I was raised with...filipino culture. My father is in the U.S military and I moved around many times...I got to meet new friends from everywhere and adopt many cultures, and gain insight in many societies.:walkman2:

yup, i've been there twice [once in 1998 and just last april] and will be leaving in three weeks for an exchange student program.
culturally, i'd say there's much more to see in japan [especially kyoto!] than the states or some other place. i dunno, there's something about traditional japanese culture that really grabs me. the quality of their work, their impeccable manners, the harmony in their surroundings. i emphasize the word traditional because modern japan is so hi-tech and confusing. of course the japanese are still extremely polite, but their surroundings and way of life have changed drastically.
going back to this thread's topic, i wouldn't say i'm a socialite. my preferred idea of entertainment is going to small clubs to watch my musician friends play :) and hang out in coffee shops just talking to friends i haven't seen in a long time :)

:
According to the Lonely Planet, Korea is the most Confucian nation in Asia.
At the heart of the Confucian doctrine are the Five Relationships
between ruler and subject
between father and son
between husband and wife
between old and young
and between friends
thus, you have to be introduced to the Koreans in order for them to know where to put you. After that, they will go out of their way to help you in any way. They are actually nice if they know where to put you in the Five Relationships.
The Koreans repect their elders a lot
They are also fond of doing things together. The best manifestation of this is the way they take their meals. Everything is shared.
In another note, most Koreans hate the Japanese. More than half of the comfort women during WW2 were Koreans.

No your at the right place...Yes that is true about meeting strangers, "no strings attach", but I like giving them a chance to see if they could be possible friends. However there are nights when you just want something else other then freindship..:D :walkman2:
