nag away daw yung players??? bakit daw?? :confusing: ano daw ba talaga nangyari??? kawawa yung sbc player.. :( parang deja vu sa CSB and MIT game pero at least dun di na talaga naghabulan yung players.

What a wild and wacky game was it.

It was the first time I saw practically one team being thrown out of the game. Only 2 were left on the PCU side.

Imagine, 2 against 5?

And the referees were letting them do that. But Coach Jimmy Mariano has seen enough and threw in the towel.

The final score was at 20-0. SBC was leading by 20 at that time.

The game was ugly, but SBC deserved the victory nonetheless.

NCAA. Truly rocking and still raw.

That loss on PCU's part could spell trouble for them when Mapua, Baste or Letran gain two to three wins in the next games. Sayang pa naman at sila ang darkhorse team this season!

So nagsimula ng suntukan eh taga-PCU at hindi San Beda? Teka muna, San Beda was on a 20-0 run after the incident happened or the final tally was 20-0 tapos 2 lang ang players niya? I can't imagine how this game turned into a rumble! Dahil ba sa lumamang ang San Beda Lions early in the game? :shakehead:

err.. alam ko lang maganda yung game tapos nagka- initan yung two players.. ilagan yata yun and yung natanggal sa sbc (i don't know his name) tapos nagkasalubong sila sa gitna ng court at dun nagsapakan.. tumakbo yung player ng sbc sa kabilang side ng court tapos hinabol sha nung sanz while throwing punches tapos ayun na. nag clear na yung both benches kasi nagka- away away na talaga. 20 - 0 yung score kasi PCU has conceded the game dahil di na sila makapag play with only 2 players against sbc's 5.

I watched the Blazers vs Altas game sa TV din pero hindi nako nanuod ng Lions vs Dolphins game dahil feeling ko eh mananalo na lang ang PCU! But the Bedans proved me wrong pala. Yun nga lang, nagkagulo! :(

Sayang ang game, sayang ang coverage ng Studio 23. Kasalanan din ito ng mga referees at hindi nanaman sila in-control sa pag-officiate ng game. :grrr:

PCU was practically fuming inside all game long.

Bombeo and the entire SBC team was oozing with confidence.

And the Dolphins simply couldn't accept that the league's tailender was toying with them.

From what I saw and remember, it was SBC's Merelos against Gaspi, Sanz and Ilagan(?) of PCU. Merelos, incidentally, suffered a busted lip.

These three PCU players were playing on the floor and were the first ones to be ejected while the entire bench was also thrown out due to bench clearing. Leaving only two, Roque and Franco, to play.

The same goes for SBC. Merelos was playing on the court and was thrown out together with those who joined the melee.
That should have left only four SBC players eligibe to play.

Anyway, these shall be cleared tomorrow.

At any rate, this untoward incident only contributes to PCU's further problems. It was a double black-eye for the Dolphins. A total lose-lose situation.

At least three players are expected to be suspended from the PCU side.

normal na yang scuffle na yan sa gitna ng court kahit noong 80s pa. mas malala pa nga noon eh dahil pati miron kasama. hanggang labas umaabot pa yan. kahit uwian na nagkakagirian. mas tame ngayon. pero mas naging mautak ang bedans this time dahil hindi lahat lumusob or else mahihirapan sila sa next round.

Hey, I saw the game and it was really really bad for the NCAA... It leaves such a bad taste in the mouth... The MANCOM should address this problem. I know players from both teams (SBC and PCU), but I think PCU really started it all. They got so pikon!!! C'mon guys, give SBC a break!!! They put up a good game! They were very consistent, and were so hungry (sorry!) for the win! They deserve to win that game!!! PIKON-TALO!!! :FIGHT:

narinig ko dun sa courtside reporter na sinapak ni merelos of san beda si ilagan kasi sobra nang paniniko ni ilagan sa kanya... siguro napikon na din si merelos kaya nya sinapak tong si ilagan.. tapos naghabulan na sila nakisali pa si sans at iung isang guy from PCU sa pag suntok kay merelos.. merelos went to san beda side tpos iun lahat asa court na.. ang galing nga ng san beda team hindi sila nakisali dun sa gulo sila pa iung nag-stop dun kala sanz at dun sa teammate nya...
tinanong ni jimmy mariano iung manager (correct me if im wrong) kung maglalaro pa sila (2 against 5) eh obviously ayaw na ni mariano pero itong manager na to gusto pang palaruin eh... kung ikaw iung player nakakahiya noh... hindi ka ba naman mahiya nun... maglaro ba naman kayong dalwa lang..

tsk.. tsk... iung mga ibang players talaga ang hindi ok sa ncaa... sa uaap naman iung mga referees parang ngayon lang nakahawak ng whistle kaya pito na lang ng pito!!
haay.. basketball nga naman ginagawang boxing at wrestling eh..

The NCAA Management Committee has handed down the following suspensions:

3-game Suspension:
PCU - Ilagan, Gatdula, Sanz
SBC - Merelos

1-game Suspension:
PCU - Gaspi, Dais

For sure, this will hurt PCU's championship chances. However, all is not lost for them. They have saved enough wins for the rainy days ahead.

We should expect a more level playing field in the coming days.
