There are so many types of businesses to set up, it can be a bit confusing to choose which one would be the best for someone who is looking to be his own boss. I know that everyone says that putting up a food business is a sure thing here in the country, but what else (businesses) are there that could earn a decent buck?

I think that the Water business is the one of the most lucrative in the field. since it does not require a big capital, it's profits can be ovewhelming. Why do u think, water stations abound everywhere?

I agree that water stations can earn you a lot of money, but the equipment can be very expensive. Well, right now, with all the water re-filling stations around, I'm not so sure that Metro Manila is such a ripe place to put up water stations anymore. Especially BF Homes Paranaque, do you have any idea how many stations they have there? Geeze.

i agree with nix. with so much water refilling stations in the metro, ur product won't really sell like hot cakes. ito, ur profit is 50% of selling price. kumbaga 100% patong mo. pero ur investment is BIG. and marami kang competition. sa navotas, what they do is the age old practice of palakasan. the water refilling stations make sipsip the police chief or the head of whatever gov't office. that's the only way they can survive. others naman i think they don't close shop because of the hope of maybe somehow getting back their investment man lang.

hmmm... i'd go for food business. for one, profit mo is like 60%. laki na noon ah. and besides, d ka mauubusan ng customers as long as ur food is good and ur location is great plus yung ambience.

wala lang... hirit lang ako... :)

yup. I have to agree that the water refilling station biz is highly saturated. I should know because we own one. And though it seems that you're making 100% on the product you're selling (the water), malaki rin yung investment. Not only for the equipment, but also for maintenance and the hot&cold dispensers you rent out for free. And you have to remain competitive with your pricing too, cause you're surrounded by your competition - almost literally. So the return is not as fast coming in as expected.

I think any business that caters to the masses would be likely to be more profitable because of the volume of your buyers. Mas malaki yung market kumbaga.

***** MAN, Iced-Tea stand in a school caf.. Those things I hear, make P10,000 a day.. Nakabili na yata ng bahay ang may-ari noon.. ****!

Or if you want to do the FISHBALL route, make P30,000 a month TAX-FREE if you have a good location.. SHEESH!
